bin Laden is dead and al Qaeda is on the run.

Well that or other statements that Al Qaeda is on the road to demise seemed to be the rhetoric from Obama in the past. Seems that he might have been a little to optimistic or believing the praise from his media supporters. Seems that there is major concerns about al Qaeda or other terrorist groups.
Al Qaeda threat is 'real and serious' - intelligence committee chief - World News
U.S. embassies in Mideast, North Africa prepare to close over security threat - The Washington Post
Too bad they didn't see the threat prior to Sept 11, 2012

Or that an increasingly marginalized force often resorts in increasingly frenetic action in an effort to re-establish itself. But that is far too difficult (and inconvenient) for the zealous Obama-basher to comprehend. You are nothing if not predictable.

Got to tell it like it is. If it is such a "marginalized force" why close all the embassies, why have a high level meeting at the White House discussing the continuing threat from Islamic terrorist? Oh I see, you also believed the political posturing.

Terrorism is asymmetrical warfare and one can have a credible threat from an organization that is being increasingly disrupted and marginalized.

There were no signs of an attack on Sept, 11 2012. You keep saying it, but never prove it.

Just wondering what you consider intelligence? There were 2 minor attacks against the compound prior to 9/11/12. The British Ambassador had an attempt on his life and the Brits closed their operations. The Red Cross residency was attacked and they closed their operations. Not sure what you want? A email to the US saying we are going to attack your compound in Benghazi?

When al-Qaida says "boo" and we scatter like roaches when the kitchen light is turned on,I don't know if that would indicate the terrorist org being on the rebound,or if this admin just had a knee-jerk reaction to avoid another Bengazi. And,yes 9-11 was preceeded by chatter no one took seriously, probably because it was deemed simply to be a scare tactic considering the actual time and effort it took to carry it out. No one in our "intelligence" community paid close enough attention to prevent it. Otherwise the Department of Homeland Security would have been created before the attack and not after.

My apologies....I was referencing the 2001 9-11 incident, not the one from last year. I should read things a little better before commenting.

Yes, but they were months earlier and spread out. The state department told Stevens that security forces must be pulled as planned regardless of the area tensions. (Republican defunding)
Once the attack started, Stevens was taken 20 minutes into the breach. Not to be found hours later..dead.
Security personel was at the Benghazi embassy with 50 or more people 20 minutes after the attack started. (so don't say no one helped)
The majority of the attacks happened later that evening at the Annex, not the embassy. And on the way to the Annex.

You keep talking like why didn't we do anything in 8 hours? We did, you just don't research facts. Fox won't tell you these things on purpose. Haven't you noticed that?

Let's take a look at what you call the facts.
1.

Wrong the reduction in security was not due to underfunding in the budget. Read Item #2 under Findings at http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/202446.pdf

2.
Once the attack started, Stevens was taken 20 minutes into the breach. Not to be found hours later..dead.
And where did you get the information that the Ambassador was taken 20 minutes after the attack started. Better check your facts. From:
How the Benghazi Attack Unfolded - Timeline - WSJ.com
2130 hours attack starts; 2230 hours to 2300 hours Americans (with the exception of the Ambassador) retreat to annex; After 2400 hours looters find unidentified body (the Ambassador) (approx 2+ hours after attack starts)

The US support you supposedly say was there left the complex in two cars and drove to the annex a kilometer away. Just how many people can you get into 2 cars? Also from Diplomat: U.S. Special Forces told "you can't go" to Benghazi during attacks - CBS News
According to excerpts released Monday, Hicks told investigators that SOCAFRICA commander Lt. Col. Gibson and his team were on their way to board a C-130 from Tripoli for Benghazi prior to an attack on a second U.S. compound "when [Col. Gibson] got a phone call from SOCAFRICA which said, 'you can't go now, you don't have the authority to go now.' And so they missed the flight ... They were told not to board the flight, so they missed it."
Where do you suppose the order originated to stand-down came from? In all my years in the military regional commands do not make decisions to either send troops nor not send troops into a hot spot. This decision has to originate from a more "senior" source. There are still a lot of unanswered questions dealing with the attack and the mission at the annex. (arms to Syria????)

And just for you I did not include any data from Fox News.

There you go again, you tell me to read but you don't point it out. What I read is that there was zero intelligence that prompted the attack. No where in your #2 'findings' does it say anything about the reason for reduction of security.

I posted the timeline for you earlier, not my fault you don't read anything. Funny how your link doesn't mention anything about what time stevens was taken.

What order to stand down? Doesn't matter if you're in the military or not, I think most people know how it works.
Actually there aren't a lot of questions anymore. The republicans have held numerous people under oath and have concluded the reports in the unclassified documents you provided.

And just for you I did not include any data from Fox News.
At least you're learning. Fox won't give you the 'whole' story. They keep it one sided and avoid giving information further than that. Which is why we always have to tear your stories and conspiracies apart.
You guys all do it, and I know you get your ideas for stories from ACG.

Guess you can not read or maybe comprehend what you read. From Findings
Systemic failures and leadership and management deficiencies at senior levels within two bureaus of the State Department (the “Department”) resulted in a Special Mission security posture that was inadequate for Benghazi and grossly inadequate to deal with the attack that took place.
Do you see any reference to underfunding of security as a cause? The answer is no, so why do you insist that it was the fault of Republicans.

Not sure what you mean by "taken". From all reports that I have read the Ambassador died from smoke inhalation. Ambassador Died in Smoke While Agents Searched for Him - Bloomberg
Now there is a source that says the Ambassador was killed by lethal injection by the terrorist. Al Qaeda weapons expert: U.S. ambassador to Libya killed by lethal injection - Washington Times

What order to stand down? Doesn't matter if you're in the military or not, I think most people know how it works.
Again you seem to have problems reading or comprehending. Didn't you bother reading the link I posted Diplomat: U.S. Special Forces told "you can't go" to Benghazi during attacks - CBS News

So, how about the following CNN article? Exclusive: Dozens of CIA operatives on the ground during Benghazi attack – The Lead with Jake Tapper - CNN.com Blogs

No, the reason I didn't use any Fox News sources is not because I don't trust them. It is because you have been so indoctrinated into you hatred of FNC that it is easier to not mention them. As far as the AGC goes, there are many people on that site that have opposing views and express them. They do not get banned, therefor one has to wonder what you wrote that got you banned from the site. From your attacks I will have to assume it was fairly horrendous.

Who HAS dealt with the radical Islamic threat in a cohesive and effective mannor?

No one knows how to effectively deal with radical Islamist. Not even GWB as indicated by the attack on 9-11....Which there was ample intelligence provided leading up to the event. He and all of his staff were briefed about the potential threat. His blunder on Weapons Of Mass Destruction was an outright lie that cost us lives and money. So it would seem, by your logic, none of our officials can deal effectively with with those who seek to cause us harm. You can't prevent every attack...
