I was reading somewhere that people believe that birthmarks can possibly come from a past life/death.

I have good size crescent moon on my lower back on my right.

I'm sure it probably doesn't mean much, but I was wondering if anyone had some "expertise" and could tell me what it means symbolically.

Reminds me of Cloud Atlas. I haven't studied it, but what I heard of it made sense to me. I'm interested to hear what others will say about it. Crescent moon sounds interesting - maybe you were Muslim in your previous life...

I'd be curious to see the source of this story, because it's not one I've run into before. Sounds like something that maybe would come out of the New Age culture rather than contemporary Pagan culture, so that could be why I haven't seen it.

Ultimately, when it comes to things like this, you're the final arbiter of interpretation. Omens should be interpreted from the framework of your own religious path rather than someone else's. A Wiccan might interpret this omen as you being marked by The Goddess, but someone who lacks that theology wouldn't. Someone else might look at the facing of the crescent and interpret it as an omen of a short life if it mirrors a waning moon. Others might not see a moon at all, and instead a sickle, echoing harvest time and autumn. If you trust yourself - trust your own intuition - you find the right meaning for you.

The first book I dtarted with was A Little Book of Pendulum Magic by D.J. Conway. I can't remember though if it had any past life charts in it. I've since lost the book during a couple moves and recently bought a new book, Dowse This...Explore Your Past Lives, Future Lives & Parallel Lives by Juanita Ott.

I would look up specific charts for you in my new book but my mom has borrowed it. Also you don't have to buy a pendulum. If you wear a necklace regularly it can be used as a pendulum if it has a bit of weight to it. Gold and silver are precious metals and can pick up energies just as well as a semiprecious stone.

Thinking about you really don't need a chart...not if you know your pendulum well. You could just hold it over a clear surface and start with determining your pendulum's natural "yes, no and maybe" responses. Once you know these you can ask questions like, "Is my birthmark the result of death in a previous life?" From there the questions may naturally come to you.
