Blacks are not as diverse as Latinos according to Biden.

It is such a pity that so few Americans these days are politically knowledgeable enough to know that Blacks vote in greater proportions for Democrats than do Latinos. No wonder there is so much misunderstanding of Mr. Biden's words, and what is almost certainly his intended meaning.

You can tell some here didn't listen to what was said. Context anyone?
I can tell they just got the Fox "snippet."

Saw that. Ugh, such a stupid thing to say. :facepalm:

No Trump supporter really has room to complain about politicians who say ridiculous things. But, this did make me cringe.

So he's talking about being politically diverse. That might be true.

Meh, politicians insist on maintaining racism so they can play people against each other

The problem/s I have with it, personally, is that " race " is something that actually has no backing in science, so there's that

Then, I have a problem with how history and the ignorance of history plays a part in this modern situation

If people had bothered to study some history before jumping on the bandwagon, they would have seen that " racism " is actually just the stale pseudoscience of " scientific racism " taught by the Gottingen School of History in Germany, in the 1780's

They brought us such lovely terms as " negroid ", " mongoloid " and " caucasoid ", all of which are outdated terms not used by any serious biologist ( Most agree these are outdated terms )

The modern colloquialisms of " white people ", " black people " and " brown people " are all just re-dressed outdated terms from a known pseudoscience

So, A) " Race " is a nonsensical concept with no scientific backing, B) People insist on self-identifying with racist terminologies coined by racists in the 1780's, all the while demanding everyone else not be " so racist " by acknowledging their " race " , which they have somehow been fooled into thinking has to do with the color of their skin ( Big steamy pile there )

People have claimed genetics is what is the " scientific backing " for " race ", when I bring this little historical factoid up, yet for some reason they do not consider themselves as coming from an ancient " race " of banana-people even though humans share some 50% of their genes with bananas ( Which is actually only about 1% of your DNA )

I think that comes from a general ignorance of genetics and DNA ,as genes only make up about 2% of your DNA, so claiming 2% of your DNA is a scientifically valid foundation for " race " and phylogenetic origin would be about as silly as wearing a chicken on your head

I'm bothered by the fact that a majority of people still turn to these outdated concepts

You fill out an application, it asks " What is your race ? ".....smh

Of course it was.... Congratulations! You now have a presidential candidate that allows you to be as much an apologist as you accuse the supporters of that other guy....just sayin'.

There was no "context"; and I did listen to the whole thing. The guy's just a bumbling fool. BTW, see my post #10 for a real treat.

Ya think so? I won't be voting for Biden because he's incapable of coming off like a bumbling fool. I'll be voting for him because:
  • he's a lower grade of evil than the dude in the chair now;
  • his VP won't be as much of a village idiot as the current VP is;
  • I still dream of Tump and Billy Barr being arrested and jailed for high crimes and misdemeanors;
  • seeing the other current assorted selection of vermin in the White House administration jailed or swept out of office; and
  • a boat-load of incriminating documents de-classified.

It definitely is. Black people largely and mostly and widely and predominantly vote Democrat. Latinos and Hispanics tend to be more of a mixed bag amd Republicans for years have been trying to figure out how to make them into a reliable Republican voting blok because some do vote Republican while many come from a conservative background but a good number vote Democrat.

While I agree with you that there is no scientific basis to race, that doesn't mean that races don't exist. Race is a social construct, and as such, races can be just as real as language, money, police and borders.

In most cases, I figure that people don't 'identify' as a particular race, they are being identified as such by the totality of the society they live in - and it seems fairly obvious to me that skin color plays a massive role in US society and the narratives that are perpetuated to uphold its social order.

You think Biden was talking about race. He was talking about voting.

Between Puxatawney Hiding Biden and BLM they are going to elect TRUMP.

Thanks!!!
I saw Donald run into a secret underground bunker when peaceful protesters were near. Then he got embarrassed with his weakness.
Later, he emerged with teargas flying so he could walk to a church that didn't want him there.

Sobering thought....
Democrats chose him over all other contenders.

And now, his Veep selection process looks like
that TV show, The Bachelor. Will there be a
hot tub date episode?
Anyway, I think he's better than Hillary.
So at least it's a step up for the party.
