Brazil Senate puts Rousseff on trial, ending 13 years of leftist rule

Yet another leftwing failure - this is becoming like clockwork, now. Hopefully the Castro's are next. Why do some assume government is the answer to everything, yet you are dealing with the same humans who are the same percentage of corrupt humans whether they are in private business or in government? Yet typically, the reach of those in government the foolish surrender power to is much more broader, corrupt, and often fatally dangerous than a business.

"Brazil's Senate voted on Thursday to put leftist President Dilma Rousseff on trial in a historic decision brought on by a deep recession and a corruption scandal"

... another leftwing failure of corrupt human element with powers too far reaching and your typical Kleptocracy. Hillary would be no different.

I am not sure you actually understand what is going on. Even though her political party reeks of corruption, Rousseff isn't being put on trial for being a corrupt politician, but rather for breaking the budget law. Even so, that is only an excuse. This is happening only because (1) she wasn't able to satisfy the hunger for power of our mercenary Congress and (2) she became incredibly unpopular among common folks.

And what about "right-wing" failures? It's not at all hard to come up with a batch of those.

I am not even sure the PT qualifies as left-wing. It is more like a low-grade gang of thieves really.

Yes, though I'd say that in the public sector, you get all the greed, corruption, dishonesty inherent to humanity that you find in the private sector

MINUS the efficiency, productivity, wealth creation, innovation, and hence benefit to society

Actually, I'm gonna have to disagree with you. According to an FBI estimate given a few decades ago (yes, I am THAT old), there's roughly four times more money tied up in white-collar crime than blue-collar crime each year on the average, and their estimate was staggering even though I can't remember what it was.
