Breakfast

Do you eat breakfast? If so, what do you typically eat? How soon after waking do you eat?

On work days, I'll have some variant of two eggs and toast, whether it's fried on a sandwich with cheese, over easy on top of toast, or French toast. But I recently discovered a south Indian dish I love called pongal, which consists of water, rice, green gram lentil, vegetable oil, clarified butter, salt, cashews, asafoetida, cumin, ginger, and tumeric. I typically eat that on my off days.

Of course, I enjoy my morning coffee as well.

Coffee I have after my morning meditation, and breakfast I have typically one and a half to two hours after waking up.

What's your breakfast of choice?

Oh.... or

Peanut butter on toast.

Peanut butter used to be a high salt, high fat, high calorie, junk food.
Now it's a high protein vegan superfood.

Impressive.

I'm hot and cold on peanut butter. I get the taste for it and buy it, eat it for a few days, then throw away a half to three quarter full jar a year later.

Heathen! What's your position on jam with PB? (Or jelly as I believe you may call it)

About the same. I bought this jam about a month ago. You can see how much I've eaten...

o_O Vegan yes. “Superfood”...Not so much. ;)

Steel nails.

Helps with scouring clean me insides.
Pah! I eat three navy seal veterans, alive, for breakfast every morning, with a live grenade follow-up.:mad::mad:

Actually I usually have savory oatmeal and fruit.
Savory oatmeal is not sweet. It has vegan “chicken” broth, rosemary, sage, thyme, pepper, poultry seasoning and spinach. Yums!

I usually never eat breakfast or lunch, just been that way for years ( OMAD - one meal a day )

That said, I enjoy typical breakfast foods and will sometimes eat breakfast for dinner, but rarely

I'm a latke + poached eggs kinda guy, maybe some cheddar grits+scallions+bacon crumbles, or sometimes just a nice bowl of oatmeal with b. sugar, butter, salt, cream and chopped prunes

Please!
Try to educate me!
I hear it on films all the time and get eye strain trying to figure out what 'it' actually is!

So Please......What on Earth and under Heaven does 'Over Easy!' mean?

Once every six weeks my wife has her hair 'done' on a Saturday morning at 9am and I drive her to the stylist's (apparently it's not a hairdresser) and since there is a Turkish cafe just over the road I go there for a smashing breakfast.
Eggs (just friggin' eggs, Salix, ok?), Bacon, chips, tomatoes, two fried slices and a mug of tea.
Now this is NOT a full English breakfast, the cafe owner insists that this is a full 'Turkish' breakfast.

True.
:)

The eggs are cracked into a skillet, fried on one side until the bottom is firm, then flipped until the other side is white, but the yolk and a bit of the white are still runny.

We also have over medium and over hard, which just means they're cooked longer. Over medium is typically all of the white is fully cooked and just the yolk is runny, and over hard is cooked until nothing is runny.

Toast, too. I'm a vegetarian, and I'm too lazy in the morning to cut tomatoes or cook potatoes.
