“O KING! I was but a man like others, asleep upon My couch, when lo, the breezes of the All-Glorious were wafted over Me, and taught Me the knowledge of all that hath been. This thing is not from Me, but from One Who is Almighty and All-Knowing. And He bade Me lift up My voice between earth and heaven, and for this there befell Me what hath caused the tears of every man of understanding to flow. The learning current amongst men I studied not; their schools I entered not. Ask of the city wherein I dwelt, that thou mayest be well assured that I am not of them who speak falsely. This is but a leaf which the winds of the will of thy Lord, the Almighty, the All-Praised, have stirred. Can it be still when the tempestuous winds are blowing? Nay, by Him Who is the Lord of all Names and Attributes! They move it as they list. The evanescent is as nothing before Him Who is the Ever-Abiding. His all-compelling summons hath reached Me, and caused Me to speak His praise amidst all people. I was indeed as one dead when His behest was uttered. The hand of the will of thy Lord, the Compassionate, the Merciful, transformed Me. Can any one speak forth of his own accord that for which all men, both high and low, will protest against him? Nay, by Him Who taught the Pen the eternal mysteries, save him whom the grace of the Almighty, the All-Powerful, hath strengthened. The Pen of the Most High addresseth Me saying: r not. Relate unto His Majesty the
Sháh that which befell thee. His heart, verily, is between the fingers of thy Lord, the God of Mercy, that haply the sun of justice and bounty may shine forth above the horizon of his heart. Thus hath the decree been irrevocably fixed by Him Who is the All-Wise.”
Proclamation of Bahá’u’lláh, pp. 57-58
It's interesting that you consider this evidence that the messenger was channeling a god rather than writing all of this himself and attributing it to a god. I could have written that as could millions of other people. It's just a flowery exhortation to be pious replete with unevidenced claims. Here's some more, but from the pen of an unaided human being (me):
"The angels hath reveled in the radiance of the Most Elevated, from whom the wisdom of the Infinite doth flow and batheth them in the glow of more stars than there are grains of sand. Can any man high or low, who is but a flickering flame in the winds of time, knoweth more than a speck compared to the Lord of Lords. Nay I say. O holy!" Throw in a few more haths, behests, spakes, exceedings, formations like "studied not" and "entered not," verbs ending in -eth, and one can go on generating this stuff forever. AI can do it, too.
On the other hand, you apparently think Trudeau will save you, and keep you warm, as you keep voting him into office.
You're confused. I'm an American living in Mexico. I don't need saving. I saved myself.
As for you saying you are not going to answer my posts
More confusion on your part. You don't seem to be able to tell one of us from another. I never posted that. I like answering your posts. I agree with the others about you, but that's no reason for me to put you on ignore. I've learned from you, but not what you might think.
I don't know, I have been given warnings by the administrators around a dozen times whenever one of you guys get their feelings hurt and report they are melting. I don't really think the administrators find my post out of line, but they have to do something every time a snowflake complains.
Interesting how you frame that. Others are snowflakes because they correct your bad manners, and you are reprimanded by the mods for no better reason than to appease these snowflakes. Of course, you play no part in any of that. You're just the victim of weaker, thin-skinned posters and spineless, unprincipled moderators.
I can say no to government, media, and the pharmaceutical industry, whereas you will have a harder time.
I have no desire to say no to them about everything they offer. I benefit from them all.
But I too, prefer a simpler, smaller life than the one that appeals to Americans, albeit not like a survivalist as it seems you've chosen. We go almost everywhere on foot or if by car, within five miles of home. We're virtually never in the city and don't fly anymore. A tank of gas is good for 2-3 months. My wife is presently out on foot to pick up some garbanzo beans she ordered through Amazon. We spend very little, most going to groceries and restaurants. Yesterday, we walked for Chinese food (we take our own reusable to-go containers). I wear no jewelry except a wedding ring, and haven't worn a tie in over a decade. I'm extremely lo-tech: no watch, don't have a cell phone of my own (my wife carries one), have never telephoned anybody on a cell phone or received a call on one, and have never tweeted or texted, etc..
But our life is not austere. We have all the necessary appliances and other conveniences, satellite TV, water purification system (filters, UV light, and reverse osmosis), air conditioning, solar panels, security cameras, etc., so we're not roughing it by any means.
Everybody is fleeing the Progressive cities, such as Los Angelos, San Francisco, Portland, Chicago and New York. They are fleeing them for conservative states, such as South Carolina, Florida, Texas and Tennessee.
I don't believe your unsupported claims, but let's stipulate to them. Why tell me? I have no American problems anymore, remember? Almost nothing that happens in America affects me. Want to shut down the government? Want to outlaw same-sex marriage? Want to suppress voting? Want to ban books? Want to give more tax breaks to the wealthy? Want to reelect Trump? Want to shoot up a church or a theater? Want to end Medicare? They're all bad ideas and I oppose them all, but I am unaffected whatever is chosen.
Fleeing to the South seems like a pretty bad option to me. I can't imagine even visiting there again. And where can one go in America today that isn't threatened by extreme weather now or in the near future (drought, fire, lethal heat, polar vortices, atmospheric rivers, tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards, flooding, etc. and all getting worse annually)? It's at the worst latitudes for North America. Canada and Mexico are both preferable locations compared to America.
