Bye bye Miss American Pie, hello Lucifer and 666’s US Supreme Court

Also, now that the precedent of "official immunity" has been set, why wouldn't it also pertain to Congressmen and Senators? Why should just the president and his goons be above the law because he is acting as a public "official"? Why not all public officials? And why not cops? They are all acting as public officials, too.

This is why this decision is so incredibly stupid, and unconstitutional, and damaging to the rule of law. And why people are so upset about it. It is literally the doorway to political despotism. And we all know damn well that if Trump were elected, he would use it to do all the terrible things people fear he would do.

I am all for Biden removing Trump from running for office, and for him removing Thomas and Alito from the Supreme Court. And for him exonerating any public officials that act on his orders to do so. But afterward, the court needs to put a stop to all this idiocy and restore the rule of law according to the Constitution. And Biden could then retire as the hero that saved our democratic republic.

All Biden would need would be people willing to carry out his "orders". No law would stop him because he would not be legally responsible for any "official" order he gives. And he could simply exonerate those who carry them out, so they would never be held responsible either. You keep thinking that the rule of the Constitution somehow still prevails, but Biden can now simply ignore it with no legal consequences whatever. And although it still applies to everyone else in the government, Biden could simply exonerate them if anyone tried to prosecute them for carrying out his orders. So there is no actual legal consequence there, either. And because this is all ultimately a legal debacle, there aren't going to be a lot of people looking to disobey the president's orders. If the president orders the secret service to detain Trump at Mara Lago because he is deemed no longer eligible to run for public office, are they really going to refuse his orders and trust this legal system to protect them? I don't think so. And keep in mind that a huge portion of the American people would APPLAUD getting Trump off the ballot and off their TVs. Not to mention that a significant portion of the Secret Service, that have seen Trump's behavior up close, would be only too happy to do it.

Remember we are talking about "packing" the Supreme Court. In the "Seal team 6" example, the President is the Commander in Chief of the military, so has the power to order the Seals to do something. Incidentally they have the right to refuse an illegal order, so he would have to disguise it in some way. He has no such power to change the makeup of the SCOTUS, which requires action by the Legislature. He could have the justices assassinated, yes, but that's not packing the court (would that be "unpacking"?). Incidentally, that would be a great way to get this immunity decision reversed. Imagine, the Pres is charged with murdering members of the SCOTUS. It gets appealed to ... guess who? I think they would quickly change their minds about immunity and stick his donkey in jail.

Incidentally, I'm not disagreeing with you in general. This is a very very dangerous decision, and in my view not fully thought through.
