California's same-sex marriage case affects all of us

I think there are a couple benefits: they are treated the same as heterosexual marriages and gay couples get the same legal benefits.

I don't think there are any cons.

Losing money and property from divorce.

That's not really a "con."

Gay folks are living together now as if they were "married," but when they separate, there are no divorce laws to govern how they split up. So being governed by divorce and family law would actually help them.

The question can not be answered until a perspective is established. Same-sex married people have the same "pros and cons" as any other couple with the added "con" of being considered inferior by those who oppose it and thus degrading marriage in general.

"Marriage" is just the "flag" that is being waved to put the abominate in their place. Already the law of the land says that same-sex sex is a correct right and freedom and that is no longer able to be challenged. It is a hypocritical play when marriage is not protected by divorce.

This is just another instance where understanding of biblical justice is wrong by standards of humanity. It was so in regard to slavery, genocide/infanticide, and gender discrimination. And is so today with homosexuality.

Not having worse conditions does not make the conditions you have justified. An equal, humane condition for all is the only justification.
