OK, thanks. We're on the same page now.
Personally, I haven't seen convincing evidence for psychic powers. Can you link to any studies?

They exist. Teleportation in spirit. Read thoughts. Discover the Future. Etc... 1) The first problem is that these manifestations are not always under control or happen rationally over constant periods. 2) The second problem is that people won't believe you if you said it before, and if you said it later, neither will they, and leaving material evidence (videos, writings) will be reinterpreted or even ignored. (without taking into account authenticity or veracity of the writings). A typical example:

John 7:19-20 King James Version
Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me? The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?

This is folklore. There's no corroborating evidence. It's many times repeated hearsay, at best.
Can you link to any modern, controlled, scientific research evidencing spirits?

Pirahã people

If we consider a hunter-gatherer people who have never had contact with modern human beings and do not believe in anything beyond the material, yet believe in lesser spirits, the explanation for this belief can be found in their perceptual and interpretative experiences of the natural world.

Anthropologically, beliefs in spirits or supernatural entities often arise as a way of attributing meaning and agency to events and phenomena that cannot be easily explained by a materialistic understanding. These beliefs frequently develop as part of complex cultural systems that help guide behaviors, social practices, and the relationship with the natural environment.

From an anthropomorphic perspective, the conception of spirits as entities with human or animal characteristics reflects an attempt to personify unknown forces or natural phenomena to better understand and interact with them. This anthropomorphic view not only describes a cultural and symbolic aspect of beliefs but can also be interpreted in light of scientific theories about the cognitive and cultural evolution of humanity. The ability to attribute intentions and human characteristics to non-human entities may have offered adaptive advantages in prehistoric contexts, influencing the cultural and social development of these groups over time.

Thus, the existence of anthropomorphic views of spirits can be understood within a cultural and evolutionary context and can also be explored through scientific lenses to better understand the cultural and psychological dynamics underlying human beliefs.

No.

There is absolutely no scientific evidence that psychic powers exist (despite spending millions on research in the 60s to 90s.)
So how can hypnosis bring out something that doesn't exist.

A good film to watch (or book to read) on this subject is "The men who stare at goats" by Jon Ronson. It's loosely based on the US militaries attempts to harness psychic powers.

Existence does not imply manipulation.

Croesus, the legendary king of Lydia, is a historical figure known for his immense wealth and a tragic mistake that marked the end of his reign. He ruled Lydia, a region located in modern-day Turkey, in the 6th century BCE and is widely remembered for his interaction with the famous Oracle of Delphi.

The Oracle of Delphi was a significant religious center in ancient Greece, where people sought advice and prophecies. Before deciding to go to war against the rising power of the Persian Empire, Croesus consulted the Oracle to obtain a prediction about the outcome of this venture.

The Ambiguous Prophecy

The Oracle's response was enigmatic: "If you cross the Halys River, a great empire will be destroyed." Croesus, interpreting this message favorably, assumed that the Oracle was predicting the defeat of the Persians. Confident in this interpretation, he decided to cross the Halys River and initiated the war against the Persian Empire.

The Tragedy of Interpretation

Unfortunately for Croesus, the interpretation of the prophecy was a fatal error. The "great empire" that would be destroyed was not the Persian Empire but Croesus' own kingdom of Lydia. Croesus underestimated the strength of the Persian army and was ultimately defeated. His kingdom was conquered by the Persians under the command of Cyrus the Great, marking the end of Croesus' reign.

This event is often cited as an example of how ambiguity in prophecies and overconfidence in predictions can lead to disastrous decisions. Croesus' story serves as a reminder of the importance of caution and careful interpretation of crucial information, especially when making significant decisions.

Dreams and visions are important to indigenous tribal cultures. If you witness a dream you are seeing the spirits of the unconscious mind, which may have processed some data and is offering a symbolic solution. The Dreams of the Chief were often considered important for the tribe, since he is thinking about the bigger picture for all of them. Dream analysis is often important in Psychology since this internal data, that we can watch in dreams, offers an internal perspective from the preconscious level. Talking about it can trigger a rapport.

This effect is due to humans having two centers of consciousness; inner self and ego. The inner self its older and is the center of the collective unconscious mind; DNA and our natural collective human propensities. Our conscious mind is the other aspect, with the ego the center of that. In dreams the ego witnesses the inner self, usually through some of its intermediary firmware; archetypes like a helpful animal. Sometimes while awake, the inner self can project and add an internal overlay, that appears to overlap external reality, since external is where the ego looks; materialist view.

Psychic is based on the inner self data crunching solutions based on extra subliminal data it has. If you have even been to a Psychic, they can form sort of a human version of a blue tooth connection to your unconscious mind; download things about you. That is easier to do as you learn to value the wisdom of dreams. The act of paying attention causes the inner self to offer more and more practice on the bridge between.

I once met a professional hypnotist

He told me that all hypnosis is self hypnosis

And that it is the job of the hypnotist to help people hypnotise themselves
