Hi to all , and many believers say that we ought to follow Jesus and how can you explain the following ??

In John 20:19 , we see that the CONTEXT is Jewish , for Jesus is talking to the disciples .
And in verse 21 , Jesus gives a commission BEFORE the so-called Great Commission of Matt 28:19 .

Jesus says , " as My Father hath sent Me , even so send I you .

Then in verse 22 , He breathed on them , and saith unto them , Receive ye ( the ) Holy Spirit , and please notice that the word ( the ) was added to the Greek Text and it reads , " Receive ye Holy Spirit " and changes what Jesus is telling them !!

Then in verse 23 , Whose soever sins ye REMIT , they are Remitted unto them , and whose soever SINS ye retain , they are Retained .

This means that SINS can be forgiven by Jesus disciples ?

Is this possible to do this today ??? They did , so why not today ???

This refers to the method of teaching and spreading 'the word'
(in the form of parables)

Then in verse 22 , He breathed on them , and saith unto them , Receive ye ( the ) Holy Spirit , and please notice that the word ( the ) was added to the Greek Text and it reads , " Receive ye Holy Spirit " and changes what Jesus is telling them !!

Yes....having 'spirit' is not the same as 'being the spirit'.
But in function is there really any difference?

Then in verse 23 , Whose soever sins ye REMIT , they are Remitted unto them , and whose soever SINS ye retain , they are Retained .

Forgive our trespasses as we forgive others

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
