Can we stir up active users....?

I always watch the side-bar with online users. I wonder if we can all stir up our member base to come online at the same time.

I think I'm going to make a challenge for everyone.

Let's set a date and time. For every user that logs in during X time/date I will donate $1 to a charity of my choosing.

Who's up for it?

How is it rude to say that this isn't something that would motivate me to be online more or even at the time that it occurs? I didn't say "THIS IS STUPID AND ANYONE WHO LIKES IT IS STUPID." I said, that this would not motivate me.

I don't actually think this is particularly charitable, despite the donation, it comes across as marketing instead. And that's fine, even the mix of the two is fine. I chose to express my opinion regarding it just as you did.

I'm up for a ton of charitable things, but getting online isn't a challenge. And I assure you I'll make up for my dollar in another way in case you're concerned.

Yah it is hard to because of holidays and such. But maybe we can tie that into the challenge. Just think we have some 20k+ members if 1k of them can get online that will be a nice gift for someone or some organization for the holidays.

Anybody have a date/time in mind?

I have noticed that weekdays/nights tend to get more activity. Perhaps you should make a poll and see peoples availability, give the option to vote multiple times. Then we pick the time has the most votes. I got a smart phone, so as long as its not past my bed time im in.

I suggest we use EST Time, mostly because that's my time zone.

How long a span of time do you think you'll allow? Several hours? All day? :D

I'm open to throwing in $25 to the pot.
