Can we talk about election fraud?

I brought this up in another thread, but I feel it's important enough that I wanted to have more focus on it.

Trump and the Republicans, backed up strongly by The Heritage Foundation, are promulgating fears of election fraud ad nauseum, and it's getting louder as the election gets more imminent.

Now, let me ask you this: if you thought you were going to win the election, would you want to have convinced everybody and his/her dog that it could only be because the election was rigged? Really?

Democrats are focussed on telling their supporters that the election is going to be close, and that they need everyone's vote. But they do not ever even suggest that those votes will be fraudulent, that somehow or other the result will be rigged. And as a result, if they win, they would be proud to say that they trust the system, and that they won fairly and squarely.

But Republicans are saying, right now, that no matter who wins, the election must have been rigged. That means that if the Republicans do win, they must -- by their own logic -- have won it fraudulently!

Think about, with that kind of logic, does anybody really think the Republicans think they're going to win?

Maybe stop trying to change a system that has served this country well enough for the past 250 years.

250 years ago, only male, white landowners could vote. The system has been changed multiple times, mostly to make it more democratic.
It still has some faults, like Gerrymandering and voter suppression, but over all it has worked for the last 50 years. The problem isn't that progressives want to make it even more democratic, the problem is that the regressive want to roll it back to the system you had 250 years ago.
