Celibacy, Wicca and Neopaganism

I am a celibate virgin -- not for any particular reason. Just have never been drawn to any one person. Can a celibate be Neopagan or Wiccan...or Feri?

Would a celibate Pagan be missing out on something essential?

Of course a celibate person can be Pagan, Wiccan, whatever. Sex isn't a necessary requisite for becoming a Pagan of any kind. The only thing you're missing out on is sex itself, and it's up to you decide whether or not it's something essential.

Generally, any sexually-related practices would be personal and likely be at one's own discretion. Not saying there aren't any, but Wiccans can just be religious and they don't participate in magick. (where the sex rites come from) Some Wiccans do magick and some don't... Personal preferences... etc.

To the first question, yes. I'm rather curious what gave you the idea otherwise, as this has never been a requirement of Neopaganisms.

To the second question, no. You wouldn't be "missing out" on something as a human being, either.

It sounds like you're maybe asexual by orientation, which is completely fine and true of 1% of people. And yes, you can definitely be pagan and asexual or celibate. For example, look at the Vestal Virgins, who were an order of celibate priestesses in the Roman Empire. Gardnerian Wicca does involve sexual rites but it's hardly the only tradition of Wicca let alone of paganism. Feri seems to emphasize sexuality from what I've read but has a lot of other aspects as well.

There all sorts of avenues towards fulfilling and rewarding life experiences...we can just make the most of the ones we take and think are best suited to us. I would be forever cautious of any groups or traditions that want to authoritatively restrict or dictate what common sense says is personal.

It's worth pointing out that there are celibate deities (all goddesses, to my knowledge). I know of Greek ones and their Roman equivalents: Artemis/Diana, Hestia/Vesta and Athena/Minerva. All of these were celibate and yet they were all deities who were greatly respected.
