It's almost always the case, and this has been reported on a great deal over the last several years on the news.

"Most debtors won’t be able to discharge (wipe out) student loan debt in Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy. However, if you can prove that repaying your student loans would cause an undue hardship to you, you can get rid of your student loans in bankruptcy."

L'esprit de l'escalier - Wikipedia

:D

During a dinner at the home of statesman Jacques Necker, a remark was made to Diderot which left him speechless at the time, because, he explains, "l'homme sensible, comme moi, tout entier à ce qu'on lui objecte, perd la tête et ne se retrouve qu'au bas de l'escalier" ("a sensitive man, such as myself, overwhelmed by the argument levelled against him, becomes confused and [can only think clearly again when he finds himself] at the bottom of the stairs").

There doesn't seem to be much education regarding personal finance or fiscal responsibility.. Sadly, our nation's education system often encourages students to take on too much debt for college.
That doesn't even address the points that you don't get to expect how and on what people spend their money, that teachers shouldn't have to be buying supplies the school should furnish, and your randomly picked average teacher likely makes less than $50,000 a year.
