Chicagoan's Tell Obama Take You Not-Library And Stick It.

Seems that some Chicagoan's are not too pleased with Obama's desire for a "Obama Presidential Center". Seems that all it will be is a place to "spread Obama's narcissistic words".
Obama’s Presidential Library Is Change Chicagoans Can’t Believe In

Of course one might assume that the above article is prejudice but if one looks for other news sources (I tried) you will not find any that go as far as the National Review article. However the LA Times did seem to question it just a little but hey it's the LA Times and they praised the Obama.

I should say I couldn't find any major media sources coming anywhere close to the National Review article but I did find one that isn't exactly totally positive or negative and it is from A Chicagoan.

Wow, that article is earth-shaking!

BTW, on a different subject, how many indictments were there over the Obama administration's eight years in office? [don't tell some here but the answer is 0] And how many indictments have there been already against Trump's staff, and we're not even a year in? And how many have already left one way or another? I would suggest that this is more important and telling versus a controversy as to where Obama's library should be located.

Doncha sorta feel sorry for the Trump supporters that ignore the "mountain" but can see the "molehill"? Nah.

Touché, @metis

While it is an amusing aside, it's not much of a news story in the genuine sense.
Even in Chicago there are folks that likely hate Obama. Whew, who knew?

There are political ignoramuses and racists all across America that automatically object to anything President Obama says or does simply because President Obama said or did it. And Chicago has it's fair share of these ignoramuses and racists, just like anywhere else (as much as I hate to admit it, being an ex-longtime Chicagoan, myself). So it wouldn't matter where Obama wanted to place his presidential library, these haters would be howling and squealing like the ignorant pigs they are.

I think there are legitimate reasons to question the tradition of ex-presidents creating these big multi-million dollar libraries at the public's expense, but there are legitimate arguments to be made in favor of them, as well. If for no other reason than having a place to archive the millions of documents, films, and photos related to each man's tenure as president.

It would probably have some good exhibits. The Kenya exhibit where Obama took his first breath. Forging of a new era and a few documents in the Hawaii exhibit. etc

Remember folks, this is the kid who believes that 9/11 was an inside job and that the papacy is secretly the Illuminati and will take over the world by somehow combining all of the religions under one umbrella.

Isn't it kind of obvious that of course some will not like it, just as some would eagerly welcome it?

FYI the author of the last article is: Rick Perlstein . Look him up, I don't think he is what you would call a racist and you would probably agree with his political leanings.

Yawn! All Presidents build their own some where in the country related to their heritage, Yes, some racist extreme racist or whatever to object to an Obama library.

I guess you didn't understand the objections.
This will not be a library. There will be zero, naught, zilch of his presidential documents, which have all been digitized, nor be administered by the National Archives and Records Administration — the two elements required of a presidential library. In fact, the Obama Foundation has named it the Obama Presidential “Center,” and the only books it might contain would come from the Chicago Public Library.

Well now are you telling me that African-Americans are racist extremist for objecting to this? guess you should look at the Woodlands area

It should surprise no one when I confess that I'm not a big @esmith fan, but the articles are real and the issues are real. The fact that Trump is a vulgar narcissist, nativist, and pathological liar with a covey of pathetic sycophants is simply irrelevant.

What an interesting read....the thread, not Obama's continued bizarre self promotion.
A thread about his antics immediately becomes anti-Trump.
From those who so quickly cry "Whataboutism", we have this delicious irony.

And yet that doesn't give a break down of who does or doesn't support the "Obama Center."

Even you have to admit, it seems bizarre for the "target demograph" on the Right to keep focusing on Hillary and Obama, even after the juicy "plot thickener" when Sessions got a lucrative deal and agreed to cooperate with Mueller's investigation. It would be like bringing up the focus of Johnson sending drafted "troops" to Vietnam when the heat of Watergate began to fall on Nixon.
