Children of Men

I feel this sci-fi movie most accurately depicts the future. Although the term 'sci-fi' might be a misnomer, it's mostly a dystopian thriller with dabs of sci-fi technology.

The film illustrates how the social fabric will begin to unravel in our future due to: climate change, illegal immigration, militaristic nationalism and xenophobia. It is a deeply human movie, that explores the conflicts that exist within our own minds and hearts.

If you haven't seen it, I suggest you do.

If you can read this, you are as lucky as I am.
One of my favorite movies.

I also appreciate the cinematography. Lots of long takes, with incredible choreography involving sometimes hundreds of extras.

The xenophobia against immigration seems particularly relevant. . . Though I also think the idea was to make sure people of all nations were in one location for the big climactic set piece. Don't want to spoil it, but it's an amazing moment of hope and humanity.
