We all know that there are many issues that are disagreed upon by the scholars of Islam. These disagreements are concerning the secondary issues since scholars of Islam agree on the basics. Some of these issues are very minor in their importance but you find some Muslims' blood get bioled over it although we have more important things to worry about. I was checking the group of my college year class on FB, and one of our colleagues posted a song by Hamza Nmaira who is a very modest and respectful singer. His art delivers a very good and noble message. Anyway, some mates commented on the video by telling its poster "Don't post any music the next time", I said "what the ?! :areyoucra" Another one told him "you know what is halal and haram very well, you shouldn't have posted something like this especially in these days; the 1st 10 days of dhul-hijjah"!!
If some guys don't like music, no-one forced you to listen. But you can't force others to follow what makes you comfortable. Music is one of the famous (and unimportant) debatable issues between the scholars. And if this is the case, then we should accept the difference and each one's right to follow the opinion that makes more sense to him. Those who believe that music is haram view those who don't as being sinful, why is that?
Another issue like the issue of hijab vs niqab, you find the Islamic forums are full of debates about this topic, everyone wants to impose the opinion he follows on the rest. If you believe niqab is obligatory, it's your right. And if I view it as non-obligatory or even unrequired, it's my right Islamically speaking. Period.
This level of thinking represents the current shameful condition of weakness of our Ummah.
