I have a feeling within 5 to 10 years if not much sooner, war is going to break out with Communist China attempting a first strike.

Most likely is Taiwan first.

A country imo dosent make such a massive build up over the years like they have, if nothing is being planned. I think the intent is to carry out those plans in the not so distant future for which I think its inevitable now.

We were at almost midnight with the USSR in the past. This time I think its going to go all the way.

They do know how to defend against hypersonic missiles.
Alas, it's the old MAD strategy. China's missiles are also

Taiwan would be quite a prize for China. They might think its worth giving up trade for.

China cares about its "face" and having strong "guan xi," or soft relational currency. It's a mistake to ascribe the same motives to them as are held by the US military-industrial-toxic-masculinity complex.

Depends upon how one judged danger (thuggish is another matter) - like having a nuclear confrontation which has effects all around the globe - so most likely seen as the most dangerous event, and where the USA has the most nuclear weapons (at the moment) to use.

Well perhaps it's more about responsibility (rather than numbers) - as to such decisions (use of nuclear weapons) - not being reflective of what the vast majority of the planet might want and have no say over. And where the mere acquisition of such has been an immoral act - for all those countries involved.

So far it is YOUR decision that China will decide to strike first. But you offer no reason why they would follow your suggestion and attack us. What is the plan that supports your belief that China will attack? How does it pay off for China to launch nuclear weapons?

And it's true that a possibility of nuclear warfare is always on the table.

Since the late 1940's, we know. Kennedy got us close to that. Reagan made that ramp up to levels that made many citizens very nervous. Fortunately foreign policy worked it all out. I don't see China any more foolish than Russia was.

It wouldn't surprise me if some American conservatives would opt for a nuclear war over democrats winning more seats in politics.
