Switzerland has eight centuries of history.
No religious war. Ever.
Of course, we are neutral.
So, do you think that what happened in Switzerland is generalisable to the whole world? Assuming that what happened in Switzerland is what you say.

If that is the case, may I suggest that you change your OP by saying: we Christians are all a big family. Bianchi Neri or Cinesini siamo tutti fratellini and we all love each other because we all love Jesus. In Switzerland.

Belfast-2014-427_feat.jpg

It is now called the Belfast peace wall. Originally build to keep Catholic and Protestant apart in Belfast.

A rather politically incorrect joke follows

A tourist was lost in Belfast. He wondered around and darkness came. Suddenly he had an arm forced up his back, a knife at his throat and a voice in his ear whispered threateningly the dreaded question "Catholic or Protestant?"
The guy thought quickly and replied with relief "I'm Jewish"
The assailant chuckled and gleefully chortled "i must be the luckiest Arab in Belfast tonight"

I did want to start a thread in this section to make you understand that there is not much to debate within Christendom.

Loved the Aramaic version of the 'Our Father', thanks
I have a disc from St Mark's Orthodox Monastery which includes the liturgy and chants in Aramaic. An eye opener for all westerners, I think.

All Christians are just One thing. They just love Jesus our Lord.

So there is nothing divisive within Christendom.
Just Love. And faith in Jesus Christ

Jesus died for our sins. It wasn't the idea of Jesus. Jesus asked God "why hath thou foresaken me?" So, the death of Jesus must have been God's idea. God deprived humans of the presence of Jesus (the one who cured the sick and fed the hungry...the one who advocated peace, when he wasn't beating up a fig tree).

Should we love the victim of an unforgiving God who demands a blood sacrifice?--Love Jesus for unwillingly being God's victim?

Mixed marriage: Roman Catholic and Irish Catholic. Will the marriage work????

Most Christians don't think that Latter Day Saints (used to be called Mormons) are Christians, yet they worship Jesus Christ.

Nothing divisive about Christendom? Then attend a different Christian church. Read a different version of the Christian bible. Step out of line in any way by following the teachings of a different version of Christianity.

Nobody is so blind as he who will not see.

There are many who call themselves Christians but practice hate not love. There are many who call themselves Christians who ignore the 2nd Greatest Commandment.

If you agree that true Christians are motivated by love including love for all including the poor, LGBTQ and others who some think of as the "least of these", then we have a basis for agreement.

Yiu live in Switzerland, so religiously diverse.
I bet Protestants and Catholics fight on the street from sunrise to sunset...right? ;)

Suggesting that Christians fight? Why, I ought to punch you in the eye (but turn the other cheek, so I can get the other eye, too). LOL (I'm kidding, of course).

Yet tens of thousands have been massacred by Joseph Kony and his LRA.

Joseph Kony by the way considers himself a spokesman for the Abrahamic god and has the intention of setting up a christian theocracy based on the 10 commandments.

Sounds religious (Christian) to me

Me too. Another great post by ChristineM.

In their defense, they love everyone except who they hate, and they hate everyone.

As far as i know there are no christian on christian wars at the moment. There are however several Christian on anyone not Christian wars/terrorism. Anti balaka and the lords resistance army in Africa for example. Several christian terror groups in America don't seem to care whether their victims are Christians or not. And several in india

No Christian wars? Hmm....Iraq and Afghanistan....George W. Bush fightin' evil. Self-proclaimed humble (has to be to be Christian), he ruled both the US and the world.

You'll allow that there is room for difference of opinion I hope. I hope that is implied in your OP.

Except of course - over 200 versions of the bible in English alone, who knows how many in other languages and the close on 50,000 different branches of Christianity who each interpret their preferred version on the bible in the way that suites them.

Which has led to division, conflict and war. I personally believe faith in christ is the most divisive religion there is
I agree completely. Great post, ChrstineM.
