Christians: Did you know that Muhammad said this about Jesus?

In the name of Jah. I bear witness that there is no God but Jah.

Peace be unto you.

Dear Christian Brothers & Sisters...,

I just wanted to ask if you knew that the Prophet Muhammad said the following about Jesus:

"By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, surely (Jesus,) the son of Mary will soon descend amongst you and will judge mankind justly (as a just ruler); he will break the Cross and kill the pigs and there will be no Jizya (i.e. taxation taken from non Muslims). Money will be in abundance so that nobody will accept it, and a single prostration to Allah (in prayer) will be better than the whole world and whatever is in it." Bukhari hadith, Book #55, Hadith #657

What do you think of Muhammad saying that?

Yes, I have heard this or very similar sayings.

It simply means that in Islam there will be a Messiah as Jesus was a Messiah. When he comes he will be a true follower of God and men's response to him would be judged justly.
He will come at a time when followers of Christianity will have misunderstood the meaning of the cross and he will 'break' their confused ideas.
He will call men back to a high moral and spiritual life and away from their low carnal desires which centre on physical life.

'Money would be in abundance and no one would accept it' could refer to the fact that satisfaction will not be achieved through material things(money) and also to my mind refers exactly to today when the financial crisis has caused people to begin to avoid financial institutions where possible.

A single prostration to Allah gives more satisfaction to a sincere believer than all the world's material provision plus Islam is so defamed today that Muslims are mocked so that a sincere worshiper who continues to worship will be greatly blessed.

This saying has nothing to do with violence or destruction through violence.

What you overlook is that some (perhaps many) of us completely any hadith not explicitly quoted in our own scriptures!

This is clearly one that isn't so quoted.

Not to mention which, even the Muslims themselves can't agree on which ones are or are not valid!

Its a nice quote but there is no proof that he actually said this. None of Prophet Muhammad's sayings were recorded until 200+ years after his death. The only thing that survived intact from his lifetime was the Quran.

No Sir, in Islam Jesus is the Messiah, just as he is in Christianity. In the Abrahamic traditions there is one Messiah, and Islam holds that he is Jesus, son of Mary.

Peace & Blessings.

Where in the Holy Quran does it say this?

This idea, of the same Jesus coming back, is something that has been absorbed into Islam from the Christian teachings of the communities that later converted to Islam.
It has never been the way of Almighty Allah that He brings back a person.
If anyone deserved to be brought back it would be the Holy Prophet(pboh) as he was the perfect example for us.

The holy prophet? So all the other prophets were unholy? And where in Quran does it say that Prophet Muhammad was perfect? He was reprimanded 6 times in Quran. Don't get me wrong, Prophet Muhammad was a great man and he deserves nothing but respect and love, but it's amazing how people turn him into a partner beside God, almost worshiping him. If he was here today, I'm 100% sure that he would be the first one to put a stop to this! As for Jesus coming back. We don't know. God left the matter open for interpretation in the Quran intentionally. This is sure to be a test for a future people.

Although many Hadiths are attributed to Mohammed I believe there is little proof that he actually made the statements.

I believe that it has to be taken with skepticism. There is no way to verify the validity of the statements.

Jesus is God in the flesh so any perfection should be attributed to Him and not to Mohammed who is just a messenger.

That seems reasonable but why would a person ignore God simply because He spoke in a different book?

Sura 71:18 "’And in the End He will return you into the earth, and raise you forth again at the Resurrection?

Whats more important, what the Quran says or what Muhammed said according to some ahadith that not all Muslims even agree on,theres not even any proof that a Jesus even existed so how concrete can the hadith be ?.

Jesus being God in flesh is your opinion. It means nothing to those who don't share your opinion. And perfection can only be attributed to God. Not Jesus, not Muhammad, not Abraham, nobody.

Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

If Jesus was God, could he be tempted by the devil? Could God be tempted by his own creation? If Jesus was perfect, could he be tempted by the devil? Do you know what prefect means? Without flaws. If Jesus was flawless, would he be tempted by the devil? It's in your own scripture. Use the noodle. You're worshipping a man. Not God!

As for 71:18. Are you implying that God is speaking to Jesus. Read the entire Sura in context. It's obvious that God is speaking to the reader, all humans. It's so obvious it's not even open for debate.

I believe your opinion that it is only my opinion is not true. I believe the Holy Spirit has revealed this truth to me.

I believe you are thereby saying that God means nothing to you.

I believe this is true and why perfection can be attributed to Jesus.

Evidently the devil thought so but he wasn't successful in the least.

I believe that I worship God. I believe you worship an idol (a false image of God).

Not in this passage. I was responding to this statement: "It has never been the way of Almighty Allah that He brings back a person."

M.V.

Namaste, I have no picture f Jesus or Mary as far as I know. I used to wear a cross because I hoped it would instigate a converstion about Jesus but now I come upon people unaware.

The devil failed in Matthew 4. Agreed. Jesus passed the test. But if Jesus was God, as you claim, why was there a need for a test? Did GOD (the creator!) need to test himself?

And I have read your scripture. Have you read the Quran? Or did you just see the men with funny hats and scraggly beards on CNN and just assumed Quran must be a false scripture?
