Christians what makes you not accept Islam?

I was a christian once so I hope I am allowed to answer here. There was a time in my life when I didnt accept the Quran for following reasons:

- Why risk believing in Islam, Jesus promised that his believers are saved.
- Jesus did greater miracles
- Bible is enough
- Muhammad was a warlord
- Quran is a different gospel

But thanks to God I saw that there are no real reasons to deny the Quran and I heard God Speaking through it ("my sheep hear my voice")

1. In Islam you believe in Jesus so you are saved.

2. Houdini also did great miracles. Stories of miracles 2000 years ago are zero proof for anything. And if I believe these, id also had to believe stories about Muhammads miracles because I want to be consistent. Is it greater to bring a man back to life or having water flow out of your fingers? Both things are impossible, so I cant really say that Jesus miracles were better.

3. The NT is a great book for spiritual evolvement. But the Quran has new information in it. When I get a car today from God, why shouldnt I accept a laptop tomorrow? For me it is blasphemy to say that God cant add anything to the revelation of Jesus Christ. Jesus hardly taught any laws, Muhammad did.

4. Other holy people have been walords too. If I didnt believe Muhammad for that reason, I couldnt believe Jesus, because He accepted Moses who was a warlord.

5. For me the Quran is exactly the same gospel. But this is a matter of opinion and the only reason I could accept for not believing in the Quran.

But most christians dont accept Muhammad as a true one from God because they are happy with their beliefs already. People dont like to change their belief they grow up with. The sad truth is that most christians, who dont like Islam, would be muslims who dont like christianity, if they grew up as muslim children.

I'm already a member of Christ's Church, thank you very much.
I understand that perspective and how you feel. I'm just asking...if Jesus Christ (and you knew it was truly Jesus) asked you to simply follow Him and leave the Mormon Church would you?

How does a thread on Islam end up focusing on Mormonism? It sure would be nice if people could stick to the topic of the OP for a change.
I don't know. I don't think I diverted the conversation from Islam to Mormonism, but came in along the way somewhere. It is interesting how things change.
Anyway, I'm getting tired and going to bed. I know we have differences in our perspectives, but I really do appreciate you. Good-night.

That's reassuring to hear. I think that this little exchange shows that both of us are equally sincere in wanting to do what's right and in believing we're on the right path. Would you agree?
That's sweet, but I just wish that more Christians understood that by giving an iota of credence to Islam, they unwittingly undermine Christian theology because Islam is a supremacist replacement theology.

Keep in mind, Ymir, that I was speaking to InChrist, who is not Muslim but Christian. I would like very much for the two of us to be friends, but it has been very difficult going, and I tend to latch onto any sign that we might be able to ultimately get along.

I also disagree with your apparent sentiments that there is no good to be found is Islam. I believe truth can be found in pretty much all of the great world religions.

Re: InChrist, I understand, Kathryn and that is nice to see.

Re: Islam, I did not say that there is no good to be found in Islam, I said it is a supremacist replacement theology, a point that cannot realistically be argued. It is because it is a replacement theology, that openly disputes many things in Christianity, that it is a veritable minefield for unsuspecting Christians to wander into.

I agree with your perspective, but I am afraid too many Christians do not, as Chrislam is ever increasing...https://www.thebereancall.org/content/chrislam-christian-palestinianism-0
Chrislam? Christian Palestinianism?? | thebereancall.org

I see the teaching of Christianity and Islam as diametrically opposed and as you've stated it is a replacement theology.

I don't actually even know what a "supremacist replacement theology is." Maybe you could tell me so that I won't inadvertently wander into it.

Do you really believe God only speaks to Jews? What evidence is there of this?

God is the God of the earth and not the God of the Jews. Jesus said God could raise up seed from the stones if he wished. He was trying to express that God can make a chosen people or nation if he wished.

Secondly the Jews rejected God when they killed Jesus. They failed to fulfil their mission to be the people through whom God would bring salvation to the world. Having failed, must God cease to speak to his children because the Jews have rejected him?

No, I don't think God only speaks to Jews.

But if there were another Prophet, They would be Jewish. No if's ands or buts.
And if you think God loves and cherishes them any less than He did thousands of years ago, Then you're sorely mistaken. They are and always will be His people.
