Christmas Cards

As some of you may or may not know, I am a bit of a crafty person (i.e., I'm into various crafts; I'm not a scheming cow!). Anyway, it's that time of year again, and I'm getting ready to make some Christmas cards. I'm actually planning on attempting to sell some at the local craft market. I was just curious - do you all prefer to give store bought cards (either expensive ones, or the ones that are $2 for a pack of 100), or do you prefer to give handmade cards (even if you didn't actually make them yourself)? Which would you prefer to receive?

I like any kind of card, because it means someone thought about. We pay $8.00 to $15.00 for 15 or 20 storebought cards here. This depends on the quality. I would buy handcrafted cards. Can you show us some of your designs.

I'm a poor one to ask as I appreciate the thought that any card conveys. Some of the most precious, however, are the ones colored by crayon in a child's hand and containing a picture of the family. The more elegant card gets put on the wall as part of the holiday's decroration.

Not much help, am I?

Thanks for your replies, guys. Lightkeeper, if you want to see some I've made (I can't take credit for the original designs, I'm afraid ), then check out the webpage I just clobbered up in my profile. I'll add some Christmas designs once I've taken photos of the ones I've done so far...these were just what I had on my pooter from a while ago. ;)

Ooh, I sold a card today! :jiggy: Yes...just the one lol, but it still made me want to get my butt into gear and make some more. Mum will be over for 4 more markets before Christmas, I might have a bit more luck then. ;) Oh, I sold the 'Three Wise Men' Christmas card, you can see it here. It's near the bottom.

Yay for crafty people! I'm trying to get the hang of stamping... It's taking me awhile, but I might have it ready in time for Christmas. I'll be interested to hear more of your thoughts on the topic!

I've got a big box full of stamps and embossing powders. :p I haven't made a stamped card in ages tho, since I got into the punching. Toaster comes in handy to melt the embossing powder. ;) You'll have to show me some of your creations when you get them done!
