Christmas shopping

I hate having to go shopping for even the basic of needs the closer to Christmas it gets. Insanity. And you will NOT ever catch me going to a store on "Black Friday". Nope, not gonna happen. People are straight up crazy.

My family doesn't do presents at Christmas. We don't partake in the holiday really except to visit my parents as they want to have the whole family meal thing for the holiday. Within my own home though, we do have a present giving holiday but we decided that instead of doing it at Yule or Christmas, we do the whole shebang at Ostara/Spring Equinox. We decorate with pretty Spring colors and eggs and bunnies and streamers and the wrapping paper is all pastels and such. We do our big family gift-giving holiday then.

I'm not shopping too, but not out of some principle. I just don't have any money to buy gifts this year. :( Which is a shame, because I actually like to give others gifts.

I loathe Xmas shopping. Gift giving matters to Mrs Revolt, so she shoulders the responsibility. But for her gifts (can't opt out there), I now rely on the kids to pick out stuff for her.

Anyone know Sheldon Cooper's views on the matter? That sums it up for me.

I thought you were gonna say "Festivus."

My wife and I have too much stuff. We have no kids. We will take our dog to a store to buy her treats but that's about it.

But in passing, I think having to work in a store on Thanksgiving day should be illegal with those in management who order it sentenced to the stocks where they can be pelted with rotten fruilt.

There are malls everywhere here in my place, so Christmas shopping isn't really a problem, though there are a lot of people at the mall. During Christmas though, the traffic's quite heavy. But I love it. I love the Christmas rush. I love shopping during this season. I don't have to take time looking at pretty girls choosing what clothes to wear for parties, reunions and stuff.. I am not really fond of giving gifts, except for my half brother (and this year, 'half brothers').
