Christmas: too early!

So, I have just been watching some daytime TV

There was a feature...

About "the countdown to Christmas"

"Just eighty eight sleeps to go until the big day" a vacuous presenter chirped

It is September

Too early

And it's all about what to buy

It is an excited celebration of consumerism

The older I get the more I grow to dislike Christmas :(

Has anyone here seen any Christmas advertising lately?

France doesn't really do Christmas until early December though you may see some preparation before that.

It use to annoy the life out of me going into a uk supermarket in late September/ early October and having piped Christmas music played at you in an attempt to get you to buy Christmas presents.

And when Christmas is over they'll start on Easter.

I have noticed that one of the uk freeview tv channels opened another couple of channels again (they do it every year from rarly September) dedicated to Christmas movies.

I saw something similar while watching TV the other day. I got nauseous and ran to the bathroom to vomit.:p

Not seen any Christmas adverts, but I'm eagerly awaiting the first RF "Is Christmas pagan?" thread. :santa::evergreen:
I heard Pagans invented stocking fillers, made the first ever John Lewis Christmas advert and watched stone tablets of Harry Potter in 3000 BC. Which is also when my local Wetherspoons pub put it's xmas decorations up for this year.

Someone reported seeing a Christmas display in a local store near me. Feh. We do have a couple of holidays before that one.

I hardly ever go anywhere anymore, but I've noticed when I'm out walking at night, some folks have their Christmas trees up.

I want to start playing loud Christmas music in June just to see the look on people's faces.

Peppermint mocha and gingerbread latte season already? We haven't even had pumpkin spice yet! We're just starting on the London Fog (earl grey tea with half & half) season right now.
