CNN admits “Trump's right: The economy is doing well and he deserves some credit”

A massive tax cut produces a one year boost for the economy. Yay! What's he gonna do next year - cut taxes again? Whatever happened to balanced budget? Oh, wait, if there is no budget, there is nothing to balance. We'll just have continuing resolutions until Dems take over again. Then the Repubs will go back to yelling about tax deficits and balanced budget.
Next up will be yet more elimination of business stifling red tape and reworking trade agreements. Which will continue to improve the economy.

WWMRD?
Right! How does a Trump supporter use a fake news source as proof?

Because if a historically anti- (insert politician here) source is giving positive press on that person, it is probably because they felt they needed to. It would be much like FOX news praising Obama or Hillary for something they had done.

What? Me worry?

Even when CNN says Trump deserves credit for the economy some sufferers on “Trump derangement syndrome” can’t bring themselves to admit it. How priceless.

I don't take my opinions from CNN. Nor from MSNBC, Fox News, the Washington Post, or the New York Times. I arrive at them myself by evaluating confirmed or trusted claims of fact.

I see no evidence that Trump has done anything beneficial for the economy. His trade wars will cost jobs and raise prices. The tax cuts will add to the deficit with no return to the nation or its workers.

What's deranged is to support a continual liar, bigot, business fraud, serial adulterer and sexual predator who is cruel, selfish, and a bully.

Trump deserves credit here

For what? Pleas show how any Trump intervention has modified the trajectory of the Obama economy for the positive.

A massive tax cut produces a one year boost for the economy.

Once again, where's the evidence for that?

Next up will be yet more elimination of business stifling red tape and reworking trade agreements. Which will continue to improve the economy.

And with the deregulation will come more hardship and death for the American people. These regulations being rolled back are things like food inspection, environmental protections, banking safeguards, and worker protections.

Furthermore, it doesn't matter how robust the economy is if most people aren't able to benefit from it. The CEOs and stock holders may be doing very well, but not the typical blue collar worker. He wallows in his lower middle class income status with a shrinking social safety net, shrinking savings, and increasing debt, with no foreseeable escape.

This is the person that Trump panders to, implying that their plight is due to immigrants taking their jobs and welfare queens gaming the system, when their plight is actually due to selfish, wealthy, white Americans keeping them down:

What Working-class and Poor White People Need to Understand About Rich White People

But these people will continue to vote Republican.

At some delayed point, his policies are directly involved in our economics. I already noted how he inherited a good economy. Like it or not, it is his responsibility to continue that trend. So far, it's still good if not better.

In your opinion. Instead of throwing facts back and forth, which are subject to interpretations, why not step it up? Supply the single act the Obama did that you think accounts for how the economy is doing. What major legislation did he pass during his second term? What major initiative? What trade treaty or bill? Go ahead, tell us.

Instead of throwing facts back and forth? Like my opinion is better than facts? What absurd angle are you trying to prove? That I'm not an economist? Of course, I'm no economist but that doesnt suggest that I can rely on facts for my arguments.

Your absurd proposition can be reflected by me asking you for your opinion of why Trump is continuing a good economy but without asserting facts.

Those are separate issues from a free & strong economy.
In fact, a strong economy can finance improvements in both areas.

Balance?
1) How did the continuing prevention of refinancing troubled loans, thereby sending people into foreclosure & bankruptcy help anyone?
2) How did taxing those who could refinance for waived principal & interest help them recover? (This even prevented many refinances because lenders required that new borrowers had cash on hand to pay this tax liability. I know because it was required of me on multiple loans.)

I see no need to ignore other aspects.
Moreover, harming the economy as Obama's administration did caused social harm.

FYI, I favor stronger (better) environmental protection....for libertarian & aesthetic reasons.

I'm going to have to get back to you.

FYI... I trust your knowledge in economics more so than others but as we've discussed before, many assertions to the economy tends to be speculation since economics is a social science. First, I have to understand if your assertion is true because numbers would suggest that Obama had a good reign. Maybe, not the best as it could have been but it was positive.

Assuming what you're suggesting is true, the numbers still suggest that Obama still had an overall positive effect.

I will have to revisit this later.

Thanks

Hmm. If you read it, the message is pretty mixed. It rather looks as if he has helped the economy at the cost of exploding the deficit. This is a an easy trick to pull off if a politician is unscrupulous enough, since the consequences generally come home to roost after he has left office.

But evidence here perhaps that CNN is not a leftie propaganda organ, hell-bent on making Trump look bad regardless of the facts.

I recall many complaints about the unprecedented slowness recovering from
the recession ("depression" to some) during the Obama administration.
Of course, Obama must share this with Congress, & even prior administrations.
But actions he personally had his hand in are what I criticize.
