Give me a break! And nary a mention of the poor victim of the rape.
Definitely a tragedy all around, but hopefully other teens will take a lesson away from this.
Whats sad is to think this happens to many more teenaged women and men than whats reported.
Yes, a thousand times. Punishing rapists is great, but society not having such a cold shoulder for victims would be also great.
I don't know the details of this case.
Was this statutory rape (all be it consensual)?
Or was it forced rape.?
They would be treated very differently here, as statutory rape between teenagers of a similar age are rarely if ever prosecuted.
What do you suggest, that the court expunge the record?I think it is unjust for the sex offender tag to be life long.
"A 16-year-old girl who prosecutors say was raped by two high school football stars here last August after a night of drinking took the witness stand on Saturday and told a judge that she had no memory of a six-hour period during which each of the teenagers is said to have assaulted her."

Somehow I doubt he was actually sorry he did it, he is probably just sorry he got caught and has to face reality. It's good news the judge didn't let the cry baby off the hook.
Reading the article it seems to me there was enough for a reasonable doubt that they raped her.
I know that doesn't matter for most Americans nowadays, but I think it applies here.
That is absolutely ridiculous.
How so? From the article all parties were intoxicated and the girl didn't remember a lot of it.
That to me signifies a reasonable doubt that she was raped.
I think they got off easy. I would have taken them out back and introduced their anuses to a red hot steel bar.
Or, and you probably won't believe it is possible, they are not basing their opinion on only the one article linked in the OP....How so? From the article all parties were intoxicated and the girl didn't remember a lot of it.

Unless you believe the fact that she was drunk and naked means that the boys around her must have raped her (and I hope I don't need to point out the flaws in that logic).
