Coins?

Hey all, just signed up today, like what I see so far. One question though, anyone know what the deal with those coins is? Where do I find them (when I get some) and under what category do you use them?

It mentions them under the forum rules at the top right of the page. But not in enough detail, unless I missed something.


"Coins
In order to obtain things like ribbons, changing your title, and other options you can get through the store, coins are a neccessity.
There are many ways in which you can earn coins; starting new threads, replying to threads, even simply viewing threads can all add to your RF pocketbook. If you feel another person deserves praise or recognition but you don't feel like giving them frubals, you can also donate coins to them. Other forum members can donate coins to you, which is a good thing, too!"

Hmmm... I never read the rules.

I could be wrong, but I don't think they use coins anymore. It might be a thing of the past. You might want to wait for someone else to give you a definate answer though.

Ah, your probably right. That bit in the rules is probably a vestigial remnant.

Coins and ribbons used to be a feature of RF, but were left behind in a necessary server update - site security being more important than coins and ribbons.

Simply graphically showing your amount of frubals. Frubals are little appreciations. Check your cp to see who send you frubals for what.

Well, I do not know the exact rate, but you start with the multicolored ones at the bottom, enough of them make one little green ball and enough green balls make one medal.

Lucky fellow - by the time I had enough frubals to purchase a ribbon, the feature had gone.

I still mourn on some nights for what might have been.

Welcome to RF! Members got tired of constantly having to insert coins every time they wanted to enter a post, so we upgraded to a convenient method instead.

Actually, rojse had the right explanation... We had to disable the coin feature for a security upgrade. I hope you are able to enjoy RF coinlessly!
