Correction (altered post):

About IPVM

This company assisted in exposing the use of racial tracking by the Chinese.

@Mestemia pointed out my inital misunderstanding and have adjusted my post to reflect that.

Um...
You do understand that IVPM is the group that has exposed these security actions by the chinese, right?
That IVPM is not in cohoots with the Chinese government....

Dahua and Hikvision Co-Author Racial And Ethnic PRC Police Standards

It's a Reuters source.

Are you saying they are not contracting with the Chinese in regards to ethnic tracking admist surveillance related services?

Snippet Reuters...

March 30 (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - China enlisted surveillance firms to help draw up standards for mass facial recognition systems, researchers said on Tuesday, warning that an unusually heavy emphasis on tracking characteristics such as ethnicity created wide scope for abuse.

Is this being reported by IVPM or is the firm reporting this?

Whatever the details, China has taken their 1984 "big brother" totalitarianism to extreme levels.

We can't stop them but we should not do anything that makes it easier for them to exercise 100% control over their citizens.

It's one of the reasons why I have no good things to say about Communist party in China.

The Chinese people themselves are a different story, they don't deserve this.

Now I am wondering what surveillance firms are involved and assisting the Communist party in China?

I still watch what's going on in Hong-Kong a lot.

I can only hope they don't give up the fight.

You did not read the link.
If you had, you would know that IVPM is the "whistle blower"
Had you watched the video you know that that IVPM also reported on the contracts totaling more than $1 billion...

Perhaps you should read the really short article and watch the really short video?

That sounds like the kind of technology to be implemented with the next wave of islamophobia in the West.

China using surveillance firms to help write ethnic-tracking specs

Not just facial recognition, but capable of ethnic recognition and tracking as well.
This is the "China's New Normal" of China and in a few years America will be very happy to add it to its own "new normal"

Of course this Orwellian "new normal" can't be introduced in America at once. This can only be introduced in a country as China, where they are trained for more than a few years to submit to State Power/Control

But America is going there, faster than people think. So many people are so ignorant/gullible believing State and Big Tech are separate. No way, they are the two sides of the same coin. And Big Tech is very powerful, proven by "permanently banning D.Trump from Twitter". Nobody seems to worry about that. That I call gullible. I am no fan of Trump, but banning Trump from Twitter is far more dangerous, and is the first sign that America is rushing towards "China's New Normal".

The thing is it's use on the war against terror. I can just imagine how that would be implemented.
