Who told you that?
They take place officially under the orders of Mullas . It is a practise from a misinterpretation of a verse in the Quran. Women have been hanged, people executed, imprisoned and tortured. Without shame as it is considered to be lawful under shariah.

Well there is one thing for certain, honor killings are prohibited in shariah law, this is agreed upon with all the Madhhab (schools of thoughts)

Liberals....so many of you are comfortable with
demonization of Muslims, even in cases where
they cause no trouble....but oh, do nostrils flare
when any dare criticize God's Chosen People &
the Jewish State for perpetrating evil against
Muslims. Such vile & deadly hypocrisy.

Currently the right loves Israel and the left not so much and less so. In another thread, commenting that Israel's tactics are leading to them losing and I was met with extreme annoyance because I dared to criticized Netanyahu. Of course I've been attacked by others for daring to point out the atrocities committed by both sides and assert that both have contributed to the horror show that we see.

I posted that in another thread https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...mbrace-republicans-strategy-israel-divisions/ It's behind a paywall but here's an excerpt:

The war in Gaza has vastly accelerated the shift, as the once-broad support from Americans for Israel is shattering along partisan and generational lines. The divide, playing out in angry protests and Democratic debates, marks a fundamental shift in U.S. politics.
...
“But what I think is clear, especially among the younger generation, is the Netanyahu government’s war against the Palestinian people and their killing of tens of thousands of people … has significantly diminished support for Israel and especially among young people, which I think does not bode well for Israel’s future.”
...
The stronger faction — spearheaded by Ron Dermer, who succeeded Oren as ambassador and is now Netanyahu’s chief adviser — argued that Democrats’ growing sympathy for Palestinians was beginning to threaten Israel’s interests. That side asserted that “it was too late” to find productive ground with most Democrats, “that bipartisanship was already dead, and if you have limited resources and energy, you should devote them to building up your base,”

There are at least two verses in the Quran which guarantee freedom of religion. They are:

Sura 2:256

Let there be no compulsion in religion, for the truth stands out clearly from falsehood.

Sura 109:6

Say: O disbelievers!
I worship not that which ye worship;
Nor worship ye that which I worship.
And I shall not worship that which ye worship.
Nor will ye worship that which I worship.
Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion.
Quran 109:1-6

YET innocent minorities have been continually persecuted,

I believe in Muhammad and the Quran but i cherish my freedom of belief so I would not like it to come here.

Ok thanks for questioning me on that. I agree that it’s not a legal thing but more so a social thing. So in that video that girl was describing how it was a family agreement to do an honor killing. But not legally. So I apologise and I thank you for correcting me. I learnt something today. The next time I know Islam does not permit honor killing but that people still do it. Big difference.

So I’m posting a link to help clear up this issue because if I misunderstood it so could have others.

When people decide to take things upon themselves to play as judged, that is wrong. These kind of things should go through the Islamic court, where people have a chance to defend themselves.
