Concerts: Huge audience responses that give you goosebumps

Share some of the loving that's been shown to some of your favorite artists!

Tina Ivanovic from Kosovo always gets a huge audience response, but it's especially powerful here. The people singing along are even louder than she is, with all those speakers blasting her voice.

Paola and Chiara, Italian sisters, released their hit song Vamos a bailar (Let's dance) in Spanish - and the Spanish fans just love it when big, foreign stars release a song in their language. Most European countries are the same, of course - everytime a Macedonian or Hungarian artist releases a Bosnian-language song, people go crazy. But most European countries don't buy albums to the extent Spaniards do.

The audience reponse here is probably the largest I've ever seen. They know every word, and don't even stop to take a breath.

And the most dear to me, Kemal Monteno with Sarajevo ljubavi moja (Sarajevo, love of mine). I can't even read the lyrics without crying, it's probably one of the most famous songs in the Balkans. It's a love ballad about our beautiful city, the type of mournful ballad called Sevdahlinka (Passion), for which Bosnian music is known.

Here are the lyrics, again - I'm sure I've posted before. I'll bold the parts where I cry... lol

We grew up together, my city and I
The same blue sky above us
Under Mount Trebevic we dreamed
Who will grow faster? Who will be more beautiful?

You were great when I was born
From Mount Igman, with a smile, you sent my dreams
This child, growing up, fell in love with you then
And stayed here, connected to you, my city

Wherever I turn, I dream of you
All of the roads in my life lead me to you

I wait with heartache for your lights at night
Sarajevo, love of mine!

You have your folk songs, and I will sing them
I want to tell you about these dreams
My pleasure is mine, and my happiness is yours
Sarajevo, love of mine!

When the Spring wind blows, and pleasant May comes
The girls are beautiful, give them love!
Walk the cobblestones together, with sensual sighs in the sunset
Some blue eyes, some tender words

Now this child is grown, and winter covers your Mountains
The city park and my hair are grey, but the snow will melt away
Spring and youth will fill you then, without me
My Sarajevo, my only city!

I have only ever been to 3 concerts in my life (Well, discounting classical music); one was to the Wembley arena where, every year, they used to (may still do so) have a country and Western festival - non stop over 2 days.

I have a few of Freddy Fender's songs which I recorded from FM radio onto cassettes in about 1980 which I have transferred onto my computer. I have tried to buy some of his stuff, and well, let's say it is very disappointing; I just have those few track he did live at the Wembley arena.

I went to a 10CC concert (dragged in by a few people I worked with). I thoroughly enjoyed the concert, but was almost deaf for two days after.

My wife once took me, for my birthday, to see Charlie Pride live here in Bournemouth; he is a guy whose music I can really say I love. Seeing him in person was incredible; my wife (who had never really listened to his songs much) became a fan of his.
