Good to remember. Beyond that, the OT Scripture in use by the sacred writers was the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the OT. The word for God was Adoni-Lord-Kyrios.

Adonai?

In Greek Adonia translates to Lord. The Scripture read by Jesus and referred to by the Apostles, and later those who wrote the Gospels, was the Septuagint, the Greek version of the OT. In the OT the word Yahweh was reduced to YHWH rendering it unpronounceable. Reason being the word was to sacred for man to utter. In its place was the word Adonia. Still today the Orthodox when writing of God they, write G-d.
