I was watching a program a couple nights ago concerning Biblical prophecy, and about halfway through, the narrator starts suggesting all kinds of possibilities for the End Timed that are not referenced or even implied by the Bible in any way. My suspicion is that this is Hollywood's influence, to push greedy sensationalist, or else atheist propaganda / misinformation at us, but the result is the same: Abrahamic religious descriptions of the end of the world are largely unknown. There is obviously room for some interpretation, but it is dangerous to give too wide a berth to some of the crazier theories. Some important questions you must consider:

Do you think it is safe to speculate too widely on how and when the world ends?

Is extra-Biblical source of eschatological theory acceptable for Christians to think about? (or adherents of other Abrahamic religions going outside of their scriptures?

Will the World Government play a role (or is it playing a role now) in the End Times?

Are you looking forward to meeting Jesus, or are you fearful that he's an alien or that you will be saddened by your inability to understand his spoken Aramaic?

Lastly, are you prepared if the End Times began tomorrow? Why or why not?

No, we must be faithful to the Biblical text.

It's okay to read different opinions about the end times, but they shouldn't be equated with the Bible

I don't know if there will be a one world government, but I do believe there will be a worldwide persecution of Christians.

I believe Jesus knows English, after all, he created all things. :)

I would be a little more comfortable with some extra time, he's still working on me. ;)

Hollywood has a ton of influence but is it the influence we want? Hollywood basically told the State of Georgia they won't do business in their state if they pass a law that allows folks of religion to deny serve that goes against our beliefs. Be careful of Hollywood.

For Baha'is at any rate I believe we encourage a representative world parliament and an international court of arbitration to settle disputes... I know some will view this world government in negative terms but we feel it is one way to resolve the crises and encourage more unity to deal with crises that face humanity today.

As to meeting "Jesus" Baha'is believe that the promised return of Christ has already occurred with the appearance of the Manifestation of Baha'u'llah..

We live in the "end times" and so the challenges are great that's why we support universal education and an end to racial, class prejudices and we support the equality of men and women.

Speculation without enough evidence, is depressing; yet assessing what the books say, and sticking with that, is a valid resource of what might happen.

Though Jews, Muslims, and Christians think only their part of the books are worthy; that shows you that taking only part of the narrative, means you're not getting the full picture.

Personally read the whole page on Eschatology & End times globally the other day on Wikipedia, as if they've all got a similar narrative, then you start to confirm what might happen. ;)

Yes governments are heavily funding all sides of what could be WW3; thus pushing forward the end climax.

Don't speak Aramaic, and doubt it will be needed, as English is the most commonly recognized language.

Hoping he is an alien from the Alpha Centauri district, as it will then confirm many ancient ideas, that we visited by advanced civilizations, and make the whole Biblical narrative make more sense globally. :innocent:

Yeah was born expecting it in my life time, the Great Deception has already happened, and many have been deceived by it, and are unwilling to change; so time will tell, how long we have to wait for the fulfillment of the last events.

Eschatology was at the centre of early Christian belief.
They believed that Christ would return and the end of times would be in their lifetimes.
The Lords prayer is entirely eschatplogical in nature, this can seen rather more clearly in the words used at the time and taught in the Didache.

By the time Revelation was written it had be formalised into a rather horrendous process involving the entire heavenly host and the destruction of the heavens and earth.
It does not require Hollywood to help in any way to show the horror leading up to the final apocalypse.

Few Christian denominations major today on Eschatology in their dogma. Of course it is to be found in the Bible and is easily referenced.
However after more than 2000 years of expectation of its imminence, and countless generations of Christians, it is hard to put much faith in it happening any time soon.
It is even hard to find many Christians who believe at all in the whole process, including the rising of the dead from their graves to be judged...
A more common expectation is that we are Judged when we die... not at the end of time

Brother-man, my many researches have taught me that the so-called "bipolar disorder" is actually caused by demonic possession. The Lord Jesus healed all manner of ailments by casting demons out of the afflicted. Through Jesus, I am a faith-healing exorcist and I can cast out the demons that currently rend you. Before I can do that, however, you must put away your scathing unbelief and make a public confession of Faith in God Almighty and His Healing Power. Let me help deliver you from the Power of Hell. Whence in olden times, few demons walked the Earth and did not conceal themselves, now they are numerous and appear in several guises on every street corner.

It does actual mental patients who struggle daily a great service to consider their pain and anguish at the End of The World. It encourages creative thinking, scholarship in Christ, and intellectual salvation IMO. Oh, but you know, that might be the problem - there's a facet of our society that believes heavily in the attainability of a societal perfection. Beware of them, there is no perfection - these people that would use government to try to attain something that isn't real - THEY are more dangerous than anyone.

My marriage is far from perfect. But where we have discord, we can prepare for TEOWAWKI together. I know that where he and I have our failings, we can insert the spiritual glue of Jesus and His Second Coming into our preparations. Daily I pray, and I hope you shall do the same.

That's a super-condescending version of what COULD happen, yes. But as the World Government doesn't want you to know, these organizations have been for years planning for the AntiChrist's coming.

It's not as simple as too many porn websites showing indecency. Filth was expected and some basic level of it in modern society is always prevalent as an ever-present form of the original temptation that cast us out of Paradise. It's more the eroding of strong family and church values. Confusion of gender, sex, and political roles seem harmless, until we realize that a new and scary form of bondage will weaken our resolve when we need to rally the troops behind His divine leadership for the final assault upon Hell's forces. Knowing where our morals reside should be a daily task that is not ignored.

The rise of other religions is a tell-tale sign as well. Christians are being persecuted in record numbers. Where once Christianity was the world's dominant religion and showed a pink and moist warm path to salvation, today it dwindles as other false religions gain with apathetic people. Atheists revel in depictions of Satan or hopeless science. Tuesday was a particularly troubling day for me, as I heard both that a cure for AIDS was just maybe 2 years away and later when I went to the supermarket, a young boy in the freezer section was drawing devil-like scribblings on the condensation-side of a door. I said a silent prayer upon the affront of the second assault, but it was deeply worrying not to have some holy oil in my purse for added comfort.
