Pretty much what I've been saying for years, nice to be confirmed by a study. I wanted to know how they will replace it, I haven't been able to come with something. I don't think socialism is going to sell.

I would agree that capitalism has created the huge gap in economic classes that we see today.

Capitalism demands we reject God and embraced this life for all it's worth, spend spend spend, accumulate possessions, drown in debt. Work til old age, then hand over your home to pay for your care, and let the cycle repeat with your children.

Anything that increases the efficiency of the economy will also increase our population, creating problems while solving others. Our problem is overpopulation, and we have not yet learned to deal with scarcity.

The root of capitalism is "greed (and power) is good". He's noting that the impact of untrammeled greed is becoming more and more evident. What replaces it is to me an open question.

I think it ties in with the dying of fear and wrath and reward/punishment based religion (do this or go to hell).

It strikes me that humanity is starting to show signs of more maturity as we start leaving greed, power lust, fear and anger behind albeit slowly.

No it doesn't. Capitalism has no position on the existence of deities - it's an economic system, not a theological one.

You are wrong, Capitalism is fundamentally opposed to the teachings of many world religions and directly against the teachings of Jesus, and those attributed to God.

Probably no surprise I view capitalism as a major problem, and a threat to our continued existence.

It's more the idea that under Capitalism making money and acquiring things and the American Dream replace god and the central focus of life.
