A senior police officer has been caught wearing a military campaign medal he did not earn

He wore a medal for serving in the 1982 Falklands War

But was only 15 when that happened, he was still at school

If he is fine with lying about this who knows what other dishonest things he has done during his long career

This is not a man who values honesty and he should be booted out plus I'm sure genuine Falklands veterans will be pissed off by this, I know I would be. Fighting in a war is dangerous and deserves recognition and it is wrong to claim recognition you did not earn

In Germany, it would get him up to one year in prison, or, more likely, a fine of a few thousand euros. (As any other person would get.)
Additionally, he would face disciplinary action, probably not being fired, but being degraded.
