What are you doing, bring facts into it for? Don't you get that when we do it, it doesn't matter and when they do it, it is the End of the World and all that. ;) :D

Now currently as an outsider, I get the impression that for this century the Republicans are leading big on points. :D

Mike Madigan has always been problematic, and I even thought that when I was voting blue. But, regardless, the charges are very severe and this is just the start. Once they start flipping through documents they're going to find more. Most people outside of his district don't like him and he has a reputation for being rather tyrannical. Governmental corruption in Illinois is a big problem for both parties, and I doubt we've heard the last of it.

neither to the left, nor the right, but straight and narrow is the way to life. Love is not a respecter of labels. a tree is known by what it bears and so a wolf in sheep's clothing too

People in other states complain about corruption in government...sure, they've got somebody taking bribes, or someone else having an affair on the state tab...but they're amateurs! In Illinois, we do corruption Downtown!

Politics is a grubby business....and power corrupts.....what do we expect? :(
Isn't that why Jesus told us to be "no part of the world", just like he was?

It seems that when even sincere people enter the political arena, they soon come to realize that they are just a small cog in a very big machine.....so they basically have two choices....lick 'em or join 'em. Since there is no real way to lick 'em, they only have one other choice. I suppose they could always just leave....but how many do? Its not just the individuals that become corrupt....isn't it the system that enables them?

You can't sleep with the dog and not get fleas....:shrug:
