COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker

What's the US population? Isn't it around 365 million? 3 million is a slow start in that case.
I still don't get it. There are a large number of people actively working to create a distribute this stuff, and more watching the outcomes to determine things like efficacy and after-effects to the population. It's in the works. What more can you demand? "Do it faster?" It's simply a privilege to live in an era when these things are even plausible. Someone's working on it, and they have obviously done a much better job than would have gotten done without them, that's for sure.

As much as anyone may feel entitled to a vaccine, that sentiment truly means absolutely nothing. The time to be grateful is here at hand... and instead people find cause to moan, whine and complain. Get over yourselves, please. Understand that we're damn lucky is what we are. Lucky there are even people who know how to create a vaccine. Lucky that people are laboring on everyone else's behalf day in and day out. Without them, I know I wouldn't have come up with any sort of solution. My plan would have had to be either lock myself up for as long as possible and hope for the best, or let it all fly and whoever dies, dies. That's what you face without the privilege of having people "in-the-know" who are willing to devote time from their own lives to this type of benefit. Who would you be complaining it if there were no one doing that work?

Trump claimed 20 million would be vaccinated before New Years, now only 3 million have one dose only, needing a second still

And that was like totally the first time a politician ever made an optimistic prediction!!

If there were promises made, then that's a different story. Complain all you want at those who made the promises then. But I'd still leave those actively doing the work out of it. They're doing it so we don't have to. When that is the case, I am always a very, very patient man.

It actually entirely depends on who is doing the jumping, and why. In the end, it probably isn't good for them - but you honestly never know. What if they are a terminally ill patient whose last dying wish is to sky dive? They figured they'd end their suffering and complete their bucket-list all in one go. There's always another perspective.

True, but still not good considering the extra circumstances.

If there's a connection fit over
politician promise or claim not
met, you'd be in a constant state.

you need to vaccinate 1 million Americans a day to complete in one year, 3 million in a month is a drop in the bucket and way behind schedule
I think that they do this on purpose ONLY 3 million in the first month. Suppose it was a very bad batch, then only 3 million will ....
I see this as an extra test-run, because the vaccine has not followed the usual cycle of testing; now 3 million extra free guinea pigs

So many conspiracies all going at the same time, and someone says incompetent?

How can they even keep track and remember them all? Let alone run them so well.

I don't remember the name, but on NPR yesterday someone involved said that we need to stop treating this as a 9-5, M-F exercise and treat it like the 7x24 hour availability of junk food - in other words if we care about vaccinating, have people work around-the-clock to administer it.

Whatever we feel about Trump, the fact that the vaccine is sitting around not being administered is a disgrace to right and left alike.

L and R have done a most credible job of disgracing the USA for some little while now.

No consipiracy this. We still have a little freedom of press here (we are still allowed to speak out our doubts in Holland, and even write in the newspapers). The newspapers in Holland a few days ago mentioned that in Holland they postpone vaccination some more, because they want to be sure there will be no complications (already 40% of the Dutch is against vaccination, so they don't want to take a risk that things go wrong and the anti vaccine groups grows. You need ca. 60% to be vaccinated to get covid under control the experts say).

When a few millions have taken it, and it is safe, Holland will follow in a few weeks I think.

Trump is a moron and greatly bungled the response.

However, the vaccine rollout in the US appears to be very successful so far - no? According to the article in the OP, the US ranks among the highest for number of vaccinations as a percentage of total population thus far. That’s a good thing, right?

But consider the Spirit of the Times.
The junk food industry is commerce, the noble pursuit of profit; the sine qua non of American civilization.
"The business of America is business!" -- Calvin Coolidge.

But squandering a potentially valuable commodity? Carting the stuff all over the country, at great expense, just to give it away? To what end? Whom does that profit? Why would anyone expect any great effort to be expended on such a profitless venture? --
