Fauci is looking better & better compared to his replacement,
a poorly educated loopy conspiracy theorist.

What's the problem?
His goofball beliefs will drive research & public health policy.
Money will be wasted. People will die.

No, that person's name was Spielberg.
Fauci means jaws in Italian.
And he doesn't even pronounce it the English way. Like faucet or something.
No...perfectly italianly fah-oo-chee.
Yeah...that means JAWS. Like the shark.

Any definition that lacks empathy is unconscionable.
Most of nature is lacking empathy. In some respects it's probably a good thing even if it isn't at the same time.

Empathy however is a beneficial trait in social groups that you don't end up with everyone killing everyone and breaking the cohesion, but too much empathy is just as destructive and horrifying as too little empathy is, because by putting yourself too much into somebody else's shoes, some people end up suffering and traumatized just as much as the person or being they empathize with. Particularly in situations where they have no control over, and can only reel back in shock and fear as it is being replayed over and over again in a person's mind of what it must be like. It's outright paralyzing and hideously destructive if you can't effectively shut out the sensitivity.

If people are unable to handle empathy then they should defer to people that can.

There's no such thing as "too much" empathy. A person either has it or they don't.

Will you look bad if it turns out poorly?

Rather than hoping for the best with dubious personnel
choices, I'd prefer selecting candidates based upon
quality rather than loyalty. Consider....
It's a decent source.
