Covid: ICU nurse speaks out

If you see a person twenty feet away in a store with only two people in it you'd be a rare one to catch COVID from that the other two people.
Except indoors covid spreads more easily, much further (especially no mask/improper wearing), and can linger for hours.
It is still very possible to get covid in that situation.

Mask wearing only works when you're near people, though.

It's possible but I wouldn't go off that. If ones risk is 20% (made up number) of catching covid and his peer is 90% who should get the vaccine?

I mean both can but do you understand perception of risk plays a part on people's vaccinate decisions rather than being at A risk?

Why waste both your time and mine responding a post you clearly didn't read?
What do you mean? Of course I read it. Did I misunderstand you?

First you started off with an ignorant statement about those who have not yet been vaccinated ...probably don't cover their mouths when they cough or sneeze, nor do they likely wash their hands after using the toilet. Because of course, lack of hygiene is the reason someone might not take the vaccine?!. Did I read this correctly when determining this was an ignorant statement?

Then you mentioned you are concerned about your father being infected. Here is a quote from your post: I would rather not unknowingly carry it and infect others with it, especially someone like my ailing, elderly father. Apparently the idea of considering other people and the possibly of jeopardizing their wellbeing is totally alien to them. This is where you say everyone else should be responsible for your fathers health. I'm certain I read this correctly.

I'm suggesting that you stop worrying about what other people are doing and take responsibility for yourself and your father. Get yourself and your father vaccinated and take all the precautions you should take to help ensure your Dad doesn't get it. If you take all the necessary precautions, then it doesn't matter what the rest of us do. This is the same reason why I never touch a door handle in a men's bathroom. I don't have to worry about the pigs who don't wash their hands when I take responsibility for myself. I wouldn't sit down directly on a public toilet either, but I don't expect you to come wrap the seat in toilet paper for me.
