How is a virus controlled?
Corona type viruses have existed throughout history in all populations and nations.
A better question is how is a virus
spread?
Donald Trump, and about half of America, has been spreading misinformation about this. Saying only the old and sick can be harmed. Masks don’t work. Cases are going down. Let’s make fun of people like Biden who wear masks. Real men go to Trump and motorcycle rallies and spread the virus, not like the sissies who take it seriously.
No one can stop this virus. But that doesn’t mean we should put up with people like Trump who have put a lot of energy into kneecapping efforts to at a minimum, slow the spread.
I know many people who consume a lot of Fox News and Trumpworld misinformation. And they quite simply cannot be convinced that this is not the flu. That masks are effective. That anyone moderately healthy is at risk.
I know people in their 70s who consider themselves to be in good health and refuse to wear masks whenever they can. They laughed at people (like me) who wore a mask early on.
I also know people who had a member of their household test positive, and then traveled to another state to attend a large wedding. (To be fair, most everyone thought what they did was irresponsible - but it shows the range of behavior we are dealing with). Some of us thought they shouldn’t have had the wedding to begin with.
This is totally unnecessary and unacceptable. Imagine if the President had a massive rally where everyone drove home drunk. Guess what? COVID kills far more people than drunk driving.
