Hatred is the opposite of respect
Some say it is the opposite of love but I think it is the opposite of respect
If I hate a person it means I have negative respect for them and don't believe they deserve to exist

That's more or less my take on it. But from that POV, almost anything that is termed hate really isn't hate, but strong dislike, or lack of respect for.You hate something when you not only don't want it to exist but feel that it doesn't even deserve to exist
