Defining 'hate'.

From your POV, how would you define hate? I see the word used in practically multitudinous ways.

It would depend on whether it's being used generically or if it's in a legal or political context.

You hate something when you not only don't want it to exist but feel that it doesn't even deserve to exist

Hatred is the opposite of respect

Some say it is the opposite of love but I think it is the opposite of respect

If I hate a person it means I have negative respect for them and don't believe they deserve to exist

I don't hate anyone on RF

Interesting perspective.

Great point. Just like LOVE, hate has a bunch of ambiguity attached to the abstract term.

Both love and hate are extremely hard to tie down but both can be felt, by any life conscious of itself.

That's more or less my take on it. But from that POV, almost anything that is termed hate really isn't hate, but strong dislike, or lack of respect for.
