What's your definition of a troll?

My definition of a troll is:

A person who makes provocative or silly posts with the only intention of provoking a negative reaction from their readers.

I'd say that that is a pretty good definition.

Have you heard of the concern troll?

Unlike the kind of troll you described, this guy might appear serious, concerned, and friendly, although he is no friend of yours.

Paraphrasing something from the Internet: A concern troll might write, "I don't think it's wise to say things like that. You might get in trouble with the FBI," or, "This controversy is making your side look disorganized."

Why elmo?
My favourite Rav references Muppets sometimes. In one particular video he said 'Don't be like Grover' (he also has that segment as a clip on YouTube, with that title 'Don't Be Like Grover'). So now when I see Muppets I associate them with my beloved Rav :) I used Elmo instead of Grover because Elmo is the cuter.

My intention isn't exclusively to provoke a negative reaction. Just a desired reaction.

...oh...

...wait...

...never mind.

Nothing to be seen here. Move along.

Perhaps some see all cavers as trolls - and deserve the fate awaiting these two (yes, that is a septic tank and those are explosives):
