Delay the Election ... ?

No, his suggestion is the end of the republic & democracy.
Btw, I oppose any delays.
Even if the election is fubar, I say let it proceed on schedule.

To me, we have no idea what the COVID situation will be November and really the decision has to be made somewhere near there. But, TBH, this is Trump trying to get Democrats to stop being so ridiculous with their restrictions. If work has to be shut down, school and a bunch of other things have to be modified then the election arguable could be as well. We've already modified primaries and such for that reason. Anyway, I just see this as a subtle hint to the Dems that he wants it over and this type of thing hits their panic button. He actually wants the election on time, but in the meanwhile he wants them to chill out on the lockdown efforts. This is just a way for him to get what he wants. (Like Seattle and Portland...) Looked at it from that perspective, he's doing his job extremely well. Someone who does the job good gets you what you want, but someone that does it great gets someone else to do it, lol.

I disagree about his doing his job well.
He has a mixed record, but lately...
His handling of the plague has been poor.

It wasn’t just a question. It was a false statement, followed by a question. There is no evidence that postal voting introduces fraud.

But I suspect @Quintessence is on the mark: it may be more about a self-obsessed person’s inability to face defeat than a real plan to subvert the election process.
Yes.. it is easy to see the planks in other people's eyes :) or just create one. I don't think it will happen

1) it was a question
It was a rhetorical question.

2) I don't think that will happen anyway
Neither do I.

3) I noticed you didn't say "Democracy is in the crosshairs" when they delayed primaries... why? ...
That is a remarkably ignorant false equivalency. If you don't understand the qualitative difference between a party primary and a federal election your competency as a voter is more than questionable.

3) Is it because you have a little bias?
There is nothing "little" about my bias against Trump and his basket of deplorables.

Trump tweets ...

With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???

Democracy is in the crosshairs.

100% Bullsh*t! Oregon has been doing all mail-in ballots for decades now and democracy is doing just fine here, thank you very much. Republicans HATE the idea, because more people end up voting and without long lines at the polls, they know they can't win.

Trump is a mirror, a symptom. The "great embarrassment" of Trump pales in comparison to the "great embarrassment" of Trump's enablers.
I am not an American so maybe I should not ask.
But it seems like if it is not beneficial for Trump. He does not care.

How can trump say, "how can he be so popular but nobody like me?"
And think people would care what trump say?

Trump is just afraid of losing and be a nobody again.
So he thinks he delay the election going to help him, because he thinks that when Covid-19 is gone, it was because of him:rolleyes:
I doubt that he will be a "nobody." In fact, I suspect that the moment his presidency ends, the analyses of it will commence, and they won't be pretty.

That's not what this is about. It's about narcissism and nothing more. A person with a chronic case of narcissistic personality disorder can't help but to spew rubbish like this. It's all about them. That it undermines democracy isn't the goal, it's the consequence of egomania.
Are you his doctor?

What a douche. Apparently he doesn't even know he can't delay it, and he refuses to let the voter fraud nonsense die. Sort of like he refused to give up the Birther lies. It's disturbing, but not surprising.

Fortunately he does not have the power. Congress might but thank God for the Democratic House - there's no chance of any delay passing.

Yes, we do tend to justify our positions. And your bias is what makes your statements a little doubtful to believe.

That's a supremely generous characterization of his mental state. He's very consistent in wanting power and will say or do anything he can to hold onto it.
He's been doing the opposite. If Trump were a dictator, he would have used Covid to take over (because it will never be easier than it was), but instead he said **** it, I'm not taking responsibility, and shirked as much of the fed responsibilities as he could onto the states.

What? Me worry?
Well he got most of his wealth from his father, he gone bankrupt 6 times or so, so pretty average man in my view yes.

But...but...you knew exactly who he was way before he became President, that is a far cry from a 'nobody'. And going bankrupt is not a sign of failure; not trying again is when you fail. BTW, how many businesses have you started?
