Democrats only: Are there lessons to be learned for team Harris?

I never said it was.

Nor did I say you did. But you implied that men voted for Trump because the Democrats have nothing in their messaging supporting men. I am pointing out that conservative messaging is far more damaging for men.

I agree, It does not help that society rarely talks about men as if they are needed and wanted. I have a 13 yo son that we are working through these issues.

Best of luck to you. :)

The toxic masculinity term is a problem in itself. Many things that are labeled toxic are just common masculine traits. I think the left uses the term to describe any trait that isn't associated with a woman.

Any examples?

Bingo. This attitude is why men are leaving the dem party. Go on the DNC website and look at the "Who we serve" link. Nowhere are men represented in this list.

You piqued my interest. I've never been to the DNC website, so I took a look.

Here's the list of "Who we serve:"

AFRICAN AMERICANS
AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES
ASIAN AMERICANS AND PACIFIC ISLANDERS
DEMOCRATS ABROAD
ETHNIC AMERICANS
LATINOS
FAITH COMMUNITY
LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY
NATIVE AMERICANS
RURAL AMERICANS
SENIORS AND RETIREES
SMALL BUSINESS COMMUNITY
UNION MEMBERS AND FAMILIES
VETERANS AND MILITARY FAMILIES
WOMEN
YOUNG PEOPLE AND STUDENTS

Men are represented in every single group listed except one. How do you not see that?

That's a good point. I see @Clizby Wampuscat 's point, since men's mental health as it relates to their role in society is certainly a problem, but it is useful to point out that just because women are singled out due to the unique threat to their rights posed by Donald Trump, that doesn't mean men's issues (such as homelessness, suicide, drug use, etc.) aren't being addressed here.

Have patience and wait and see what happens in the next four years.
You will get your answer! Many have already realized. Hence the support!

I have no idea how seeing what happens in the next four years would provide an answer as to why you regard Trump and yourself as being in the middle right now.

The first thing Trump will do is gut the Department of Justice and fill it with criminal sycophants that will do whatever he wants them to do. And not do whatever he wants them not to do. Thus rendering the judicial system useless and destroying the balance of powers that this government has been built on and based on from day one. We already know he will do this because he started to do it the last time he was president. But the last time around he was somewhat constrained by the rule of law and the integrity of some other agencies and institutions. But the Supreme Court has now rendered him beyond the reach of any laws, or any agencies meant to reign in political abuse of power, for as long as he is president. So he has no more legal constraints. He can and will do as he pleases. All cases against him and his loyal cronies will be dropped, summarily. Any criminals acting at Trump's behest will be immune from prosecution, and so will Trump.

Is this really the "America great again" that you were envisioning? Because it's what you are going to get. A banana republic in which the rich "Massah" decides what is just, and what isn't. And of course he will decide this always as it serves him.

And that's just the beginning.

He's also going to create an army of armed thugs to round up supposed "illegal aliens" to be abused (punished) and deported. And you can just imagine the kind of men that will sign up for THAT job! Every pedophile, rapist, and wanna-be murderer will come a-runnin' from every corner of the country to sign on for that. As their moment to finally "shine" will finally be at hand! And no pesky Department of Justice to reign them in! Rape, robbery, murder, and mayhem ... Whee-Haw! Good times in Trumplandia!
To be fair to you - I didn't read your opinion (rant really).
You need more time to heal.;)

Define left
Define right
You can see the middle ground yourself.
If you can't do that - then wait and come back after 4 years.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
I recently heard that Trump is going to start on ILLEGAL immigrants by starting with criminals for deportation. Sounds good to me.

Ok, This is a different discussion. That dude sounds like a *********.
Best of luck to you. :)
Thank you!

Probably another lengthy conversation but I see society and the left wanting men to remain boys and not become men.

Society seems to want men to accept the status quo and not rock the boat. not risk failure.

Everything in society says women are objects, then when men treat them as objects they are vilified. Society does not want to help men battle their sex drive and how they see women. The left says porn actresses should not be shamed but men who look at porn are treating women as objects. The left says if you look at a topless woman on a beach, well that is the man fault.

They don't like men that are self reliant and don't care about other people approval.

Men have a drive to protect women, society and the left says that is misogynistic.

These are just a few but it is a bigger and longer discussion.

Sure, then why do they have a separate women category?

I don't mind defining left and right, but that still wouldn't lead to the answer as to why you regard Trump and yourself being in the middle. Are you unable to answer my simple question?

And happy birthday!

You know what I can't stand? I can't stand all these suits and coats and all that that look too small.

Like having a job, being a good husband and a good father? Who opposes that?

Society seems to want men to accept the status quo and not rock the boat. not risk failure.

What do you mean by this?

Where have you been reading/seen any of this?
You have bought into right-wing propaganda.

'By the 1970s the Democratic Party became predominately liberal'

Source: Modern liberalism in the United States - Wikipedia.

According to my understanding predominantly means mostly, so I would be cutting out a portion of Democrats by posting in the liberal only DIR in my view.
Read the Liberal definition:

That's just the appropriate place to have posted this if you only wanted Democrat supporters to respond.

I read it, it contains a lot of "often" but no "always", in other words it would potentially cut out some Democrats in my view.
