Denmark's Niqab Ban vs. Amnesty International

Denmark's parliament recently voted to ban the wearing of burkas and niqabs in public - hooray! Denmark is the sixth European country to pass such a measure. Amnesty International thinks this is a bad idea.

Denmark: Face veil ban a discriminatory violation of women’s rights

I think Amnesty International's stance on Islam is incoherent.
Well done...Denmark.

Now that we have the Nationalists in charge, such costumes will be strictly forbidden here too.

As for Amnesty international...I will tell them: "what about allowing ski-masks too?

Although I am no fan of the extreme Muslim faith (or any other extreme manifestation of any belief system, for that matter) this seems a little over the top. Will this ban include really ugly women who choose to wear a scarf over their faces for the public good? And suppose the burka/nijab wearing offender was not Muslim, will they be arrested?
I can understand faces being visible on ID cards for verification, but this smacks of another example of women being persecuted.

Looks like he misspelled "G" on his face...just sayin'.
Ha!! I looked closer I think the photo was inverted!!!

Which BTW reminds me since this is a religious forum, inversion seems common.

How do you think regulating dress in this way is useful?

We already regulate dress, in many ways.

First off, when an immigrant wears a face mask, the clear message is that they are choosing to not integrate.
Second, most of these mask wearers are Muslims, and Islam is known to be a misogynistic ideology, the probability of coercion is quite high.
Third, wearing a mask is in conflict with the culture of the host country. Immigrants are not entitled to immigrate, they have been given a gift, which they should respect.

So you think the host country gets to call the shots of who may enter and how they must act?
