The sentence will be announced on the 28th and is likely to be (at least) seven years. I do not know why people get attracted to such frauds. It is a solace that he is not a Hindu.

His followers today have burnt down two railway stations and a few government offices. Three states in India, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan are on high alert.

Even worse. 32 killed and more than 250 injured in post-judgment violence. 100 vehicles damaged. Curfew in a few places. And the thing would not die down after this day. It will continue for some time. Now what do they want? Should a rapist be allowed to go scot-free?

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has reacted sharply to vandalism by Dera supporters. The court has ordered attachment of all properties belonging to Ram Rahim. It has directed recovery of losses caused due to violence from Dera Sacha Sauda.

This person deserves death, nothing less. He has been convicted of two rapes but must have been involved in hundreds. A door from his secret chamber led to a girl's school and hostel run by his organization. He is involved in multiple murders too for some of which he is under investigation. It is posible that digging in his Ashram will reveal bones of victims. Anyone opposing him was murdered. He kept an army of mercenaries.

Hopefully he will be convicted of his crimes and made to rot in prison until he dies. Taking advantage of people because you are in a position of power is tempting but one must not give in to such temptations. Any guru who is accused of rape, even once, is automatically off of my 'potentially a real guru' list. And anyone claiming to be God in some way, avatar, realised soul, whatever. Nope. Go away.
