Describe my outlook

Inspired by this thread: What Do I Believe? by @SalixIncendium

I'd like to ask members to describe my outlook, what makes me tick.

I'll try to frubal the responses based on how "close" they get it.

And, although I don't plan to be oppositional about it, if anyone brings up any particularly deep cans of worms in this thread, I might debate or clarify the subjects they bring up.

You think. A lot.

That's not a bad thing, and it makes for some interesting threads. In my time of knowing you, I've seen you as a Hindu(Saivite, if I remember correctly), a New Ager, a Wiccan, and then softly step back from theism in general, and adopt a loose sort of non-theism(I say loose, because while you say you don't think there's anything, you don't get real feisty or pushy about it, nor does non-theism seem to be a focus). Right now, your attention seems to be on Existentialism. You've also gone through a journey regarding your gender identity. You're not afraid to adjust and grow.

It seems to me you have one foot in the 'now', and another in your internal world, processing what's going on in the outer world, using it to adjust your inner world. You're often upbeat, chipper, and fun, but you have moments that reveal internal struggle and past difficulties.

You lean liberal, but have rubbed elbows with enough people around you(I believe in 'real life') that you never 'demonize' the other side, and I find how you consider the opinions of those you disagree with to be a refreshing trait in this increasingly polarized world.

Yep.

a New Ager

I don't remember, but it could be that rather than fully subscribing to New Age, I simply relied on my past knowledge of it for a period, checked out a few New Age communities, and just talked about it.

In my own memory, it was more like I left Hinduism for Wicca.

I've even been thinking about Agnostic non-theism, as of late.

The position for me, would be: "Not only do theists and atheists ask the wrong questions about God, but based on current and past evidence, I can still dismiss God."

That being said, the above-stated is more a position I'd use on the most serious of debates. For me, I'm more talkative and social than to say something like that to another person. And too curious about the other's views.

It's true, but one thing I did want people to know about my internal struggles, is not to get too alarmed by them, really. When I speak of my internal struggles, it's a way of me trying to be my own psychiatrist or therapist, and work through my own problems, and journal or talk about it, in all the times in which I'm not visiting my actual psychiatrist (ie, when I'm not currently at an appointment). I learned that trusting in a real psychiatrist is great, but that I also had to develop a plan for my normal, every day life, too.

It seemed like your interest in New Age was short lived... perhaps a stepping stone in between the two?

It could also be I'm grasping at a random memory.
Yep.

You seem like you've got a handle on them. :)

Perhaps. It could have happened like that.

In any case, it doesn't really matter, as I do indeed acknowledge that I talked about New Age a lot for a time, even going so far as checking out the New Age communities.

And I have a general interest in New Age as well based on one of my favorite video game series covering the topic. A video game series called Golden Sun. So even before I joined the forum, I [may] have had an interest in some New Age topics.
