No photos of yourself allowed in this thread (more on that later).
Also, please be honest.
I, for one, won’t post a picture of myself on a forum for multiple reasons (mostly due to my employment), though I would like to. So I thought it would be interesting for people to simply give a physical description of themselves. The ‘Post yer Pics’ threads seem to fill with a half dozen folks, along with a dozen more who “oooh” and “aaah” about the few who post, or their dogs, or their kids.......its a lot like Facebook. And it doesn’t address things like your height & weight, voice/accent, attitude, energy in a conversation, etc....Also, please be honest.
So for those of us who are a little more secretive, let people know what they could expect if we ever had a big RF get-together. Again, please don’t lie, although you can flatter yourself if appropriate.
If you MUST post a pic, then find a random pic online of someone who is fairly close in appearance to you.....but is not you. And from what little I know of RFers.....no shirtless Brad Pitt, or Sung Hi Lee photos should be present either.
Here goes...
I’m a 6 ft 3 inch, 225 pound (100 kg), 50 year old white guy. Clean shaven (most days), with short-cropped brown & grey hair, a growing bald spot on the top back of my head, and I have grey/blue eyes. You’ll either find me in good pants, white button-down collared shirt (usually with tie).....or in t-shirt, sneakers, and tan short cargo-pants, looking like the classic white dad.
I have good posture when walking, but often slump some in a chair. In recent years I am gaining more crow’s feet wrinkles around the eyes, but my motor-cycle tire “love handles” are shrinking to thinner bicycle tire size. I have clean hands and nails; no piercings, and no tattoos. I will not even stand near a smoker, and I seldom drink wine or beer.
I talk with a moderately deep, confident voice that can be made to be rumbling, and I have a firm grasp of the (American)English language, but no other. I’ve had many strangers tell me that my voice would be great for radio. I’m quiet at first, but can get “talky” if the subject and people are right. I laugh easily, and smile more than average.
I will add a “roughly like me” photo and an interesting related note later on.
