Diablo 3...

Can you point and click somewhere far and in the middle of the way while walking before reaching there you click Shift only and stop walking?
Of course, however, the range of your attacks is critical. :) My little toads from the Witch Doctor don't go very far, but the DH and Wizard have spells that go across a screen.

I can't. I won't stop unless I click attack button with Shift at that time. That will attack where I stand and make me look weird, and break what's there if any. There are breakable I want to leave unbroken for strategic reasons.
Well, yes, hold shift all by itself doesn't do anything. You're just holding the shift key which holds the character in place. You have to click the attack to do anything. I don't actually understand the problem with this.

Sometimes somethings dangerous comes all of the sudden and I want to stop going there.
Ahhhh but you want to attack too? Or just run away, screaming wildly? If you target and hit attack you will launch your attack. If you want untargeted attack, you must use shift, then the attack goes wherever your pointer is. If that makes sense. :)

But yes, attacking while standing can be done no problem and it is good for ranged attacks.
It's my Demon Hunter's normal mode, not so much with the Witch Doctor or Wizard, they only do that with explosive bosses or champs.

Hmm, thanks for the heads up man.

It's been a while since I played the game. I guess there are some updates that solved my issue as I understand you're not having it now.

Either that, or my explanation was not good enough to convey my point :)

I'll update you back once I'm done.

Thanks again :)

Wait, what's that? The updater says there is about 10GB of updates I missed

That doesn't make sense! What if I re-install on another machine later?

Now this is gonna take some time!

Nope, it's still there :(

Okay, let's use another approach to explain the issue I'm having.

Left click far away from the character on a solid ground you can walk on; some red ripple effect will show up where you pointed then the character will start moving until it reaches that place. Now, if you click Shift only before you reach that point, will the character stop moving before then?

This feature is there in another competing game and it gave me much better control over the character. With it missing in Diablo 3, I feel I'm having a degrade in playability. Yes it can be achieved with other tricks like attacking+Shift in the same time or pointing some other way, but why do I have to do that if such a simple yet very useful and effective trick can very easily be implemented in the game?

Oh well :)

My Demon Hunter, Selene (who also has the Beckon Sail chest right now), just became my second level 70. And just in time too because I have to get ready to go to work now.

OMFG!! I'm doing a rift run and I got to a room where there were literally dozens of treasure gnomes all waiting for me. I'm gonna have to make a trip back to town because there is so much loot. Nothing this cool ever happens to me. I've never even gotten to fight Uber Diablo.

You know, I ran across this once. I'm not sure how to trigger that again.

For some odd reason my Demon Hunter has very quickly surpassed my Wizard. My Wizard, with a legit weapon, and lvl 60 hellfire ring being the only things I haven't replaced since lvl 60, has an attack of 395. My Demon Hunter, on the other hand, who quickly snatched up a decent lvl 70 weapon, has an attack of 542, which some how rises to 711, but there are no buffs on at the time.

Hehe. Yes, I've run into this a few times, but not lately. My guess is that Treasure Goblins were unwittingly included in the generation of random monsters spawning on a given rift level. Have you seen the WimseyShire rift yet? Teddy bears and unicorns... Also, the vault is fricken amazing. Like I said, I got about 25 million gold per Vault encounter. Pro TIP: Before you enter the vault, reassign temporarily your points on the fourth tab and put everything (up to 50 pts) on GOLD find. Also, head back to town and put on whatever gold find stuff you have. The baddies encountered aren't too hard to kill. :) Also, before entering the Vault, go to town and UNLOAD. You will find tons of stuff in the Vault and once you are in the 3rd chamber, you can go back to town, but you cannot go back into the Vault. :)

Update: Now Paragon 252 in Hardcore...

I've been to Wimseyshire, but not the rift. I have my doubts it exist on the consolve version, as the rifts that are generated, rather than randomly like on computer, are generated around the chapter you spawn it on (or maybe start adventure mode on, I really haven't tested/payed attention to it). It also lacks the vault, which has me wanting to switch back to computer to try it.
Give me a few years (probably more), and I should get to Paragon 200. I'm Paragon 40-something on computer and 32 on PS3. It kinda sucks though that it takes awhile to get from 69 to 70, then after 70 the Paragon levels come quickly, at least for now. Certainly a helluva lot faster than they did when Paragon levels were first introduced.

So I just found out the console did get the vault, but only the PS4 and Xbox1. So disappointing:rage:.
Too bad carpal tunnel syndrome, in combination with a desk that's really not made for mouse-based PC gaming (it's like, 20 years old) has my wrists hurting after awhile.

I do sympathize, Shadow Wolfie and had a wee bit of tendonitis (or whatever) since D3 has come out. My favorite classes are the Monk, Barbarian and Crusader all of which can be a bit punishing on the gamer due to long hours locked in position. When you run two complete teams (hardcore and softcore), well, you can imagine. All in all, I think the Greater Rifts have given D3/RoS a new lease on life that will make it playable for many years. (OK, I'm easily amused.)

Spoiler: Cows also exist in Greater Rifts, but this is very uncommon.

I haven't been lagging on PC like before, so I'm taking advantage of the 100% boost to exp and gold to get a start on my PC hardcores.
I just wonder why though it always seems nobody is playing online. The multiplayer looting system is one of the things that D3 definitely took a step forward (rather than backwards, like non-random map terrain) over what D2 has, but it seems like it's very rare on PC that I get to take advantage of it.

Here is what D3 tends to do on my computer:

Those lines actually flash very rapidly, are jagged, and when it's happening it does not look like warp-seed travel. It even causes problems when the game is closed, and I have to restart my computer.

My friend, Shelley, also has some video problems - at first. For her, the game was unplayable but miraculously it just started working so I figure an update solved her issues. Is you problem still happening SW?

Yeah, I took that picture with my cell phone earlier today. I've updated my graphics card since I've first installed the game and had problems. I've even reinstalled the game. What makes it puzzling though, is D3 is the only game that causes this to happen. I even turned the graphics all the way down to try and help, but it didn't.
I do remember some update helped me with the connection of RoS, as it was first unplayable when I put it on my computer, and it took me forever to get through act 5.

Well, if we are ever in a game, especially in hardcore and this happens, just "blind" type that you are having video issues and I'll understand if u just leave at the drop of a hat.

I wish I didn't have the problems on PC that I do. Today I have been lagging pretty badly, that or I've had screen problems. How I wish the ps3 had the 2.1 patch content.

I had a great key run earlier today. Not only did all four keys drop, I got to go to the vault for the first time!! I got about 18 million gold, which got me the Hellfire Amulet recipe and lvl 70 Hellfire ring recipe, and several of the second to last gems and a few of the next to last gems (the first square ones, I don't remember all the different ranks and names).
