Did the Pharaoh of Egypt convert to Islam before he died

According to this i assume he did. Does this mean he's in heaven now?

Quran 10:90
And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in tyranny and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, "I believe that there is no deity except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims."

Salam.

I was gonna ask which Pharaoh? But when I see your quote, it is clear you mean the one in the time of Prophet Moses (pbuh).

And if you bother to read the next verse, you'll see that there is a reply given to him which means his "belief" won't do him any good.

I will quote the next verse with its interpretation in "the Light of the Holy Quran"

The next verse says:

" What! Now! (when facing death?) while hitherto you have rebelled and been of the mischief- makers "

At any rate, repenting while one is dying is of no benefit. One must repent while there is still a chance of life and of being saved.

So, it is not a true belief and repentance at all.

Repentance in Islam requires a lot more than this to be accepted and forgiven.

Please see "Discourse on Repentance" by Ayatullah Mutahhari

Beside what said Khudayar, the repent of Pharaon was too late and the Quran said concerning the belief in the last moment :

4.18 But repentance is not [accepted] of those who [continue to] do evil deeds up until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "Indeed, I have repented now," or of those who die while they are disbelievers. For them We have prepared a painful punishment.

We already know that he won't be in heaven according to those verses :

11.97 To Pharaoh and his establishment, but they followed the command of Pharaoh, and the command of Pharaoh was not [at all] discerning.

11.98 He will precede his people on the Day of Resurrection and lead them into the Fire; and wretched is the place to which they are led.

11.99 And they were followed in this [world] with a curse and on the Day of Resurrection. And wretched is the gift which is given.

In Islam, repentance is acceptable only when you have a choice, but let's say someone disobey then death comes or the punishment of God comes suddenly, then in this case one will be compelled to believe because of what he can NOW see.

That's why we all, as Muslims, believe that we still have a chance to repent till either we die or judgement day comes.
