Wierd, considering that the Chinese communist government is officially atheistic, isn't it?
I think what's most likely is that conservatives tend to look at conflict in terms of superheroes vs. supervillains.
We already have enough nuclear warheads to nuke the world many times over. Is adding more nukes to the stockpile really going to change anything at all?
Don't get me wrong; China is the US' adversary, but this is fear mongering. Plain and simple.
I'd like to know how many things Pat Robertson said would happen that actually came to pass? I don't think he has a very good track record of trying to predict the future...

Without a Soviet Evil Empire to unite us, we've become divided and fractious. We've been casting about for new threats for a long time -- terrorists, Mexican invaders, liberals....

Even if it is, it could be scary. Think about it...
Being conditioned to accept any attacks against an opposing country, under the veil that the opposing country is trying a takeover.

The beginning of freedom is not letting other humans try to control what you do with threats.
I'm doomed to hell for starting to follow Hinduism, for being transfeminine, and probably a few other things... it's pretty reassuring that I'm on the correct path getting away from groups making such claims.
